With next-gen console from Sony and Microsoft slowly taking shape, excitement across the gaming community is reaching new heights. Recent months have brought a wave of leaks hinting at powerful hardware upgrades, bold design choices, and unexpected strategies from both companies.

Now, a fresh report has surfaced that could dramatically shift how players view the upcoming generation.

A recent PS6 price leak has hinted that Sony’s next-gen console could be far more affordable than Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox Magnus.

According to reports from credible insiders, the PlayStation 6 may launch at nearly half the cost of the next-gen Xbox, giving Sony a major advantage in pricing strategy as both companies prepare for their next hardware showdown.

Importance: The PS6 price leak could redefine next-gen competition, giving Sony a major market edge and forcing Microsoft to rethink its pricing for the Xbox Magnus.

Reports indicate the PS6 might feature 30GB of RAM, compared to Xbox Magnus’s 36GB

The PS6 price leak originates from well-known tech insider KeplerL2, who shared on X that the PlayStation 6 could be priced at around $600—roughly half the expected $1200 price tag of the Xbox Magnus. The insider explained that this price gap is largely due to differences in hardware design and manufacturing costs.

Microsoft’s next-gen console reportedly features 42% more silicon, 20% more memory, and higher cooling and board expenses, making it significantly more expensive to produce. Additionally, Microsoft lacks the same level of hardware subsidy through its digital storefront that Sony can leverage.

KeplerL2 also revealed memory details, suggesting that the PS6 console may ship with 30GB of RAM, while the Xbox Magnus could boast up to 36GB. These findings align with previous reports from Moore’s Law Is Dead, which claimed the next Xbox would outmatch the PS6 in raw power but potentially at a steep cost.

Leaked PS6 visuals hint at Sony’s next-gen design focus and potential $600 price point

Ultimately, Sony’s decision on whether to prioritize affordability or profit will determine if the PS6 price leak truly signals a major win for consumers heading into the next console generation.
