Another purported Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay clip has surfaced online, with the latest footage appearing to show Jason stealing a pickup truck carrying gasoline before triggering a destructive crash. The clip is being described by leak-tracking communities as the ninth video released during the current wave of unauthorized GTA VI footage. Rockstar Games has not confirmed the authenticity of this specific clip.

The footage circulated on August 23, where viewers highlighted several apparent gameplay details. The scene shows Jason leaving a residence and driving through what appears to be his local neighborhood before encountering an NPC with a pickup truck.

According to the footage and community analysis of it, the NPC appears to be handling gasoline stored in the rear of the vehicle. Jason then attempts to take the truck, prompting its owner to resist rather than immediately surrender it. A button-mashing interaction is shown during the struggle, suggesting that some vehicle theft encounters in GTA VI may involve more active resistance from NPCs than the relatively simple carjacking animations familiar from earlier Grand Theft Auto games.

Frame-by-frame comparisons suggest the clip directly continues from the earlier basketball footage, with Jason wearing the same outfit at his “Key Lento” safehouse and showing identical wallet and vault cash balances.

As he exits, an NPC appears to be filling a container in the truck bed with gasoline, with the animation visibly glitching while a gas station employee yells at him. Jason then steals the vehicle. Viewers noted several background and minimap details during the getaway, including a commercial jet flying overhead, an anchor icon marking a nearby marina or dock, and distinct bumper stickers on the truck reading “MyWays: No Left Turns” and “DILF.”

The sequence also appears to showcase several gameplay interactions, including a contextual “Open” prompt for the hood of Jason’s Vapid Ganado, the absence of a GPS tracking pin on the stolen Bravado ’95 Bison 900, and a button-mashing quick-time event as the NPC fights back, yelling, “The government is trying to steal my gas!”

The resulting collision appears to feature pronounced ragdoll physics and graphic dismemberment, with an NPC losing a leg after being run over, before an explosion erupts around the fuel-filled truck bed. The crash immediately triggers a death sequence ending in a crude “Wasted” screen that community analysts have identified as an early developer placeholder asset.

One of the more notable details appears near the end of the clip, when an objective reading “Return to Lucia” is displayed. That suggests Lucia is involved in the activity or mission being shown, although the footage does not establish the wider story context. Rockstar has officially confirmed that Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are GTA VI’s two central protagonists and that their story revolves around the pair being forced to rely on one another after a criminal job goes wrong.

Because the footage comes from an unauthorized development build, it is not clear whether the explosion reflects a broader dynamic fuel system, a scripted event, or behavior specific to this scenario. Likewise, vehicle names and other small interface details visible in leaked footage should be treated cautiously, as assets, labels and mechanics can still change before release.

This latest clip follows several other alleged GTA VI videos that have appeared online over the past week. Earlier footage attributed to an entity calling itself CyberLeek has shown Jason playing basketball, driving, fighting NPCs, using weapons and interacting with shops and vehicles. Multiple reputable outlets have reported on those clips while stressing that Rockstar has not publicly authenticated the leaked footage. Some copies have also been removed following copyright action.

The broader leak has become increasingly significant because the videos appear to demonstrate systems and interactions that Rockstar has not yet formally detailed. Previous clips have suggested refueling mechanics, more reactive NPC behavior and expanded interactions with vehicles, although it remains impossible to determine from leaked footage alone which systems will appear unchanged in the final game.

The timing is particularly notable. Rockstar has scheduled an official extended look at Grand Theft Auto VI for August 27 at 3 p.m. ET, giving the company an opportunity to show the game on its own terms just days after the latest wave of unauthorized footage.

Grand Theft Auto VI is officially scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar describes it as a single-player game centered on Jason and Lucia in the state of Leonida.
