The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered’s PC system requirements have been revealed, giving players their first clear indication of the hardware needed to run CD Projekt Red’s upgraded version of the RPG.
According to the specifications currently listed for the game, the minimum requirements call for an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 processor, alongside an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 with 6GB of VRAM, AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT with 8GB, or Intel Arc A580.
Players will also need 12GB of system memory and 70GB of available SSD storage. Windows 11 64-bit is listed as the minimum operating system.
The recommended requirements move up to an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X processor. On the GPU side, CD Projekt Red lists an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super, AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT or Intel Arc B580.
Recommended configurations require 16GB of RAM, while the storage requirement remains unchanged at 70GB on an SSD.
The requirement for solid-state storage is one of the more significant changes compared with earlier versions of The Witcher 3. The original PC release was designed around much older hardware and could be installed on conventional hard drives, while the Remastered edition lists an SSD as part of the baseline configuration.
The minimum graphics requirement has also increased substantially. The original version of The Witcher 3 could run on hardware such as a GeForce GTX 660 or Radeon HD 7870, while the Remastered version starts at GTX 1660-class performance.
That reflects the broader technical overhaul planned for the new edition.
The Witcher 3 Remastered is designed as a more extensive visual upgrade than the next-generation patch CD Projekt Red released in 2022. The new version brings further improvements to lighting, environments, materials and other rendering systems while targeting current-generation hardware.
The game is also expected to make greater use of modern rendering features, with DirectX 12 forming the foundation of the PC version. More advanced configurations will be able to take advantage of higher-end lighting and reconstruction technologies beyond the baseline settings represented by the minimum specifications.
The recommended RTX 2060 Super and RX 6600 XT requirements remain relatively accessible by modern PC standards, suggesting players will not necessarily need current-generation high-end hardware to experience the remaster at its standard recommended settings.
However, CD Projekt Red has not yet provided a complete breakdown showing the intended resolution, frame rate and graphics preset associated with each listed specification.
That means the minimum and recommended requirements should not yet be interpreted as guarantees for specific targets such as 1080p 60FPS or 1440p gameplay.
Higher-end specifications for features such as maximum ray tracing settings could also differ considerably from the standard recommended requirements.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is scheduled to release on September 29, 2026. The updated version is planned for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
Existing owners are also expected to receive access to the remastered version as an upgrade rather than being required to purchase the entire game again.
For PC players, the newly published requirements establish a noticeably higher baseline than previous versions of Geralt’s adventure. A GTX 1660-class GPU, 12GB of RAM and an SSD are now the starting point, while the recommended configuration raises memory to 16GB and moves into RTX 2060 Super or RX 6600 XT territory.
