Manni L. Perez Confirms She Voices Lucia in GTA VI

Manni L. Perez has publicly confirmed that she is the voice behind Lucia in Grand Theft Auto VI, ending years of speculation over the identity of one of Rockstar Games’ two protagonists.

Perez made the confirmation through her Instagram account after Rockstar released its new GTA VI Extended Look on August 27. Referring directly to Lucia’s voice in the footage, Perez told followers that it was indeed her, publicly connecting herself to the role for the first time.

The announcement resolves a long-running mystery surrounding GTA VI’s cast. Fans had linked Perez to Lucia as far back as 2023, shortly after Rockstar released the game’s first trailer, largely because of similarities between her voice and appearance and those of the character.

Those theories grew after older interviews with Perez resurfaced in which she discussed working on a major project she could not identify because of a non-disclosure agreement. Her previous voice work connected to Grand Theft Auto Online also contributed to speculation, although none of those clues constituted official confirmation at the time.

Until now, Rockstar had deliberately kept the performers behind Jason and Lucia out of its public marketing.

Perez’s statement changes that for Lucia. While Rockstar has still not published a complete GTA VI cast list, the confirmation comes directly from the performer herself rather than from fan analysis or an anonymous report.

Her Instagram post reflected on the work and training that went into the project before asking viewers whether they recognized Lucia’s voice in the newly released gameplay footage. Perez then confirmed that the voice was hers.

The timing is notable because Rockstar’s Extended Look provides substantially more dialogue from Lucia than previous trailers. The roughly 26-minute presentation explores her relationship with Jason, story sequences, criminal activity and quieter interactions across Leonida, giving players the clearest sense yet of both protagonists’ performances.

Lucia Caminos is one of GTA VI’s two playable leads alongside Jason Duval. Rockstar describes her as a former inmate who grew up in Liberty City and learned to fight from her father. After leaving prison in Leonida, she becomes increasingly involved in criminal activity alongside Jason while pursuing what Rockstar describes as a better life.

The pair’s relationship forms a major part of GTA VI’s story and gameplay. Rockstar has now shown that players can control both characters, spend time together outside missions and make choices that affect aspects of their relationship and criminal progression.

Perez’s confirmation also closes one of the GTA community’s longest-running casting investigations. Her name had been repeatedly associated with Lucia across forums and social media for nearly three years, but responsible reporting could previously describe the connection only as speculation.

That distinction is now gone for Lucia’s voice role.

Questions remain over other members of GTA VI’s cast, particularly the performer behind Jason. Rockstar has yet to publicly identify Jason’s actor, despite similar fan efforts to determine who is providing the character’s voice and performance.

Rockstar may reveal additional cast members as the game approaches release, but no broader cast announcement has been made so far.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

For Perez, the Instagram post marks the end of years of secrecy surrounding one of the most closely watched roles in gaming. For GTA VI fans, it finally provides a direct answer to a question that has persisted since Lucia first appeared in Rockstar’s debut trailer.
