Gameplay footage apparently showing EA Motive’s upcoming Iron Man game has leaked online, providing the first substantial look at the project’s combat, flight mechanics and armor customization.

The footage was highlighted by Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson and runs for roughly two and a half minutes. It is clearly presented as work-in-progress material, with numerous unfinished assets and development elements visible throughout.

A watermark reading “AUG26” appears on the footage, which Henderson says suggests it may have originated from a recent August 2026 playtest or internal feedback session. That has not been independently confirmed by EA, and the company has not officially released gameplay from the project.

The footage should therefore be treated as leaked development material rather than a representation of how the final game will look or play.

What is shown nevertheless lines up with several parts of Motive’s publicly stated vision for Iron Man.

The footage includes third-person combat and extended flight sequences, both of which are central to the fantasy of playing as Tony Stark. Motive previously said that getting Iron Man’s flying mechanics right was a major design priority, with creative director Ian Frazier drawing on the studio’s experience developing Star Wars: Squadrons.

Armor customization also appears in the leaked build. Several menus seemingly allow the player to alter parts of Iron Man’s suit, although the full extent of the system and whether the visible options will survive into the released game remain unknown.

The footage also appears to show a S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier and several different environments.

One section has been interpreted as taking place in Japan, but that location has not been officially confirmed by EA or Motive. Similarly, viewers have attempted to identify several Marvel characters appearing in the footage, but those character claims remain uncertain and should not be treated as confirmed casting or story details.

EA officially announced Motive’s Iron Man project in 2022 as a single-player, third-person action-adventure game being developed in collaboration with Marvel Games.

The game will tell an original story inspired by Iron Man’s history while focusing on Tony Stark’s personality, intelligence and role as the person inside the armor.

Motive has also confirmed that the project is being built in Unreal Engine 5.

Development has continued alongside Motive’s work within the wider Battlefield organization. EA’s current Motive website still lists Iron Man as one of the studio’s active projects, describing it as a new single-player action-adventure game developed with Marvel Games.

The project is led by executive producer Olivier Proulx and creative director Ian Frazier.

Motive previously said the team had reached an important internal milestone and established a strong foundation for development, but EA has remained unusually quiet about the game publicly. No official gameplay trailer, screenshots or release window have been announced.

That silence makes the appearance of development footage particularly notable.

It is also important not to confuse this leak with footage from a separate, cancelled Iron Man project from Avalanche Studios that surfaced online earlier in August. EA Motive’s game is a different project and remains listed by the studio as being in development.

The leaked build appears considerably unfinished, suggesting that major visual, animation, interface and gameplay changes could still happen before release.

It also does not establish when the game will launch.

EA and Marvel previously announced a broader agreement covering at least three action-adventure games, with Iron Man serving as the first project revealed under that partnership.

For now, EA has not responded publicly to the latest footage.

Until Motive releases an official gameplay presentation, the leaked material offers only an unofficial snapshot of development, but it provides the clearest indication yet of how the studio is approaching Iron Man’s flight, combat and suit systems.
