Fortnite appears to be getting an Override Series: Persona 5 Royal Cup, according to newly surfaced tournament data shared by dataminer FireMonkey. The extracted description says players will compete for a chance to earn Persona 5 Royal cosmetic rewards, expanding the crossover beyond its September 25 Item Shop launch. Epic Games has not yet published a dedicated Persona 5 Royal Cup page, so the tournament details should currently be treated as datamined rather than fully announced.

The discovery is backed by an interesting entry on Fortnite’s official competitive schedule. Epic currently lists an unnamed Override Series tournament beginning September 25 across multiple regions, with the event described only as “Part of the Override Series” and its remaining details marked as coming soon. FireMonkey’s datamine appears to provide the missing crossover identity for that upcoming competitive slot, although Epic has not explicitly connected the unnamed event to Persona 5 Royal yet.

The extracted tournament text reads: “Take their hearts! Compete for a chance to earn Persona 5 Royal cosmetic rewards. Good luck and have fun!” No complete reward breakdown, placement thresholds or regional prize distribution has surfaced through Epic’s public tournament page at the time of writing. Those details will matter for determining exactly which cosmetics can be earned and how high players need to place.

Persona 5 Royal’s Fortnite crossover itself is already official. The Persona 5 Royal x Fortnite launch is scheduled for September 25 and brings Joker, Ann Takamaki and Morgana into the game. Additional decrypted material has also revealed multiple crossover cosmetics and styles, but the tournament represents a separate way for players to potentially obtain some of that content through competitive play.

The cup also fits the structure Epic has been using throughout Chapter 7 Season 4: Override. Other gaming collaborations have received their own Override Series tournaments, including Crash Bandicoot and Kingdom Hearts, with players able to compete for themed cosmetic rewards. The Persona 5-themed Match Override had already indicated that the collaboration would extend beyond standard Item Shop cosmetics.

Epic’s official competitive pages show that these crossover cups can vary considerably in format. Recent Override Series events have included different team sizes and playlists depending on the collaboration, so it would be premature to assume the Persona 5 Royal Cup will follow the exact format or reward structure of an earlier event. The datamined description confirms the intended reward concept, but not enough information is currently public to establish scoring rules or qualification requirements.

The tournament also arrives during a broader Persona 5 push across Epic’s games. Rocket League begins its own Persona 5 event on September 25, while Fortnite’s collaboration includes character cosmetics, Morgana content and additional Persona-themed gameplay elements. The competitive cup would give Fortnite players another crossover activity beyond simply purchasing cosmetics from the Shop.

For now, the strongest evidence is the combination of FireMonkey’s extracted Persona 5 Royal Cup text and Epic’s official September 25 Override Series placeholder. Epic has not yet published the final Persona-branded tournament page, complete rules or exact cosmetic reward thresholds. Those details are likely to clarify the event once the placeholder is updated closer to the competition.
