Fortnite’s upcoming Hollow Knight crossover has received a much more detailed leak ahead of its October 7 release. HYPEX says the collaboration will include the Knight as a Sidekick with a Shade style, a Sidekick emote built around the series’ iconic bench, a pickaxe resembling the Knight’s Nail and a reactive Grub back bling. Epic Games has officially confirmed Hollow Knight as part of Fortnitemares 2026, but most of these individual cosmetic details have not yet been formally announced.
The Knight itself has already appeared in Epic’s official Fortnitemares material. The character is shown functioning as a Sidekick, and promotional footage also shows the Shade form, supporting earlier reports that the crossover would include an alternate style. Epic’s broader Fortnitemares roadmap places Hollow Knight on October 7, alongside a month of crossovers that also includes Black Clover, A Nightmare on Elm Street and several horror properties.
HYPEX’s latest leak adds considerably more detail to that confirmed framework. According to the account, the Sidekick includes a Shade style and its own emote in which the player and Knight sit together on a bench while music plays. The bench is one of Hollow Knight’s most recognizable recurring elements, serving as a resting and save point throughout Team Cherry’s game, making it a natural fit for a crossover animation.

The accompanying pickaxe is reportedly based on the Knight’s Nail, the weapon used throughout Hollow Knight. Earlier leaked data had already indicated that the crossover bundle would contain a pickaxe with an additional style internally codenamed “Far,” although that codename should not be assumed to be the final Item Shop name. HYPEX’s newer post identifies the item more specifically as likely being the Knight’s Nail.
The back bling is reportedly a Grub trapped inside a glass jar. HYPEX says the cosmetic is reactive and responds to eliminations, opening chests and the player being knocked. Grubs are collectible characters in Hollow Knight that are found imprisoned in glass containers throughout Hallownest, so the concept closely follows imagery directly associated with the original game.
The leaked structure is consistent with previous reports that Hollow Knight would arrive as a single bundle containing a Sidekick, back bling and pickaxe. There is still no confirmed V-Bucks price, and Epic has not published a full Item Shop breakdown for the set. The cosmetics should therefore remain treated as leaked until they are either decrypted from live files or shown directly through Fortnite’s shop and official channels.
Sidekicks have increasingly become a way for Fortnite to accommodate characters whose proportions do not naturally fit the game’s standard Outfit skeleton. The Knight is a particularly obvious example because turning the small Hollow Knight protagonist into a conventional Fortnite skin would require a major redesign. A similar approach has appeared in other crossovers, while leaks around Persona 5’s Morgana Sidekick have shown Epic continuing to expand the format.
The Hollow Knight bundle also arrives during an unusually dense stretch of Fortnitemares collaborations. Fortnite has already rolled out several crossover sets, including the recently detailed Black Clover cosmetic lineup, while more licensed content is scheduled throughout October. Epic’s official Fortnitemares announcement lists Hollow Knight among the collaborations coming during the event but does not spell out its entire cosmetic set.
For now, the October 7 date appears substantially better supported than the cosmetic details themselves. Epic’s published Fortnitemares schedule and multiple independent reports place the Hollow Knight content on that date, while the Shade style, bench emote, Nail pickaxe and reactive Grub back bling remain sourced to leakers rather than an official Item Shop listing. If the leaked lineup is accurate, the bundle will lean heavily on recognizable Hollow Knight imagery rather than trying to reinterpret the franchise through a conventional Fortnite Outfit.
