Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s next DMZ trailer is set to arrive on October 4 as Infinity Ward begins a broader week of reveals dedicated to the returning extraction mode. CharlieIntel reports that the new trailer will debut on Sunday, while Call of Duty has separately confirmed that a full week of DMZ coverage starts October 4 with new trailers, gameplay deep dives and additional information. The rollout will focus on Hajin, the exclusion zone that serves as the setting for Modern Warfare 4’s expanded take on DMZ.
Infinity Ward announced that DMZ would receive five days of focused coverage, saying the studio plans to go deeper into Hajin and what players will encounter when they deploy. The campaign gives the mode a direct narrative connection to Modern Warfare 4’s wider conflict, with players operating as off-the-books assets tasked with recovering advanced military technology. That structure makes DMZ more tightly integrated with the main game than a detached side mode.
Activision first gave players a substantial look at the new DMZ during the Xbox Games Showcase in June. The mode retains the series’ PvPvE extraction foundation, allowing players to deploy solo or in squads, complete objectives, gather resources, fight enemy forces and rival Operators, and decide when to extract. Infinity Ward has described Hajin as a dynamic conflict zone shaped by changing weather, military activity and shifting objectives, with each deployment intended to play differently.

The June reveal also outlined several of the systems that distinguish this version of DMZ from the mode introduced with Modern Warfare II. Story Missions expand the Modern Warfare 4 narrative, while Dynamic Operations create changing objectives across runs. Players can gather materials, craft equipment, pursue high-value targets through a Bounty Board and build longer-term progression through the Forward Operating Base.
That persistent structure appears to be one of the major areas Infinity Ward intends to emphasize during the October rollout. The developer has previously said it learned from the earlier DMZ beta and wanted to build a deeper extraction experience around progression, replayability and player choice. With launch now only weeks away, the upcoming reveal cycle should provide the clearest picture yet of how progression, missions, contracts and extraction risk will work in the final version.
Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to launch on October 23, with Campaign Early Access beginning October 16 for eligible digital pre-orders. Activision has already increased its promotional cadence during the final stretch, including the recent Tokyo Game Show campaign trailer, which focused on Captain Price, the invasion of South Korea and the conflict surrounding the mysterious Archer. DMZ represents a different part of the package, placing players inside the aftermath of that wider war rather than following the campaign’s scripted missions.
The game will also launch with traditional Multiplayer alongside DMZ, while Activision has been making broader changes across Call of Duty ahead of release. The company recently clarified Modern Warfare 4’s Warzone carryover rules, confirming that legacy Operators, skins and blueprints will transfer while weapon camos will not. Modern Warfare 4 will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Battle.net, Steam and Nintendo Switch 2.
The October 4 trailer should therefore act as the opening beat rather than the entirety of the DMZ reveal. Call of Duty has explicitly promised multiple trailers and gameplay deep dives throughout the week, giving Infinity Ward several opportunities to detail Hajin’s systems before launch. For players interested primarily in Modern Warfare 4’s extraction mode, the next few days are likely to provide significantly more concrete information than the broad first look shown earlier this year.
