Developer Concode has confirmed that Graytail, its 2.5D pixel-art mystery action-adventure game, is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC in November 2027. The announcement expands the game’s previously confirmed Steam release to include Xbox consoles and the Microsoft Store, with support for Xbox Play Anywhere.

The new platforms and release window were revealed during the October 20, 2026, ID@Xbox and IGN Showcase, accompanied by an announcement trailer highlighting the game’s atmospheric environments, exploration and action-adventure gameplay. Microsoft confirmed the November 2027 launch window in its official showcase recap, although an exact release date has not been announced.

Graytail follows a detective investigating the disappearance of a famous pilot somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. Suffering from persistent headaches, the detective travels to a mysterious island alongside the missing pilot’s daughter to uncover what happened.

Players must investigate the island, gather clues and interact with its inhabitants while navigating an increasingly uncertain situation. Conversations with villagers form an important part of the investigation, with seemingly ordinary dialogue potentially revealing information about the island’s secrets.

The game features five distinct themed regions that players can explore using a motorbike. Its environments combine detailed pixel-art visuals with 3D presentation, creating a 2.5D world designed around exploration, environmental interaction and puzzle-solving.

Physics-based puzzles are a central gameplay mechanic, allowing players to manipulate objects in their surroundings to overcome obstacles. Rather than relying entirely on predetermined solutions, puzzles encourage experimentation with environmental elements.

Combat also plays a significant role in the adventure. Concode has confirmed more than eight weapons, including canes, umbrellas and crossbows. Players can use three-hit combinations, heavy attacks, spinning attacks, parries and tracking dodges to defeat enemies.

Boss encounters require players to recognize attack patterns and respond appropriately, adding a timing-based element to the combat system.

The Xbox announcement also confirms support for Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing eligible digital purchases to be played across supported Xbox consoles and Windows PCs without buying the game separately for each platform.

Graytail joins several independent adventures announced for Xbox hardware, including Magenta Down, a science-fiction survival adventure also targeting Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2027.

Graytail was previously announced for PC through Steam, where a playable demo has been released during development. The latest announcement adds Xbox Series X|S and Microsoft Store availability, with all announced versions now targeting November 2027.

Concode has not confirmed a specific launch day or pricing for Graytail.
