The Metal Gear franchise has long been a cornerstone of stealth-action gaming, blending cinematic storytelling with innovative gameplay.

Decades after its debut, the series continues to captivate both long-time fans and newcomers, with Konami showing renewed interest in bringing the legendary saga to modern platforms.

Konami has officially launched a Metal Gear remake survey in Japan, giving players the chance to voice their opinion on which classic entry should receive a modern remake.

The move comes shortly after the strong debut of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, which sold over one million copies on its first day, proving the demand for revitalized versions of the series’ legendary titles.

Importance: The Metal Gear remake survey shows Konami’s focus on fan-driven decisions, potentially shaping the future of classic game remakes across the industry.

Survey Covers Mainline Metal Gear Titles

The Metal Gear remake survey includes nearly all the franchise’s mainline games, ranging from the early MSX releases of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake to later console favorites.

However, Konami deliberately left out spin-offs such as Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Portable Ops, and the much-criticized Metal Gear Survive, suggesting the company is focusing on core story-driven experiences.

The timing of this survey aligns with the upcoming Metal Gear Production Hotline broadcast during Tokyo Game Show 2025, where Konami will reveal more about the new “Fox Hunt” multiplayer mode for Snake Eater Delta.

    Completing The Unfinished Version

Following the huge success of the remake, another project seems inevitable—similarly how the Silent Hill 2 remake paved the way for additional remakes in that series.

The Metal Gear remake survey highlights Konami’s commitment to fan-driven decisions.

Interestingly, some fans hope the survey might even lead to a reimagining of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, potentially giving Konami the chance to complete the unfinished story content and deliver the full version long desired by players.
