SYBO is bringing back its iconic endless runner with a brand-new installment, Subway Surfers City, set to release on February 26, 2026, for iOS and Android devices. Players can now preregister on the game’s official website to secure early access.
A cinematic trailer accompanies the announcement, highlighting the vibrant and diverse environments of Subway Surfers City. This sequel takes players through a bustling metropolis divided into four initial neighborhoods: The Docks, Southline, Sunrise Blvd, and Delorean Park.
Over time, additional districts will be introduced each season, along with new characters, outfits, and hoverboards to expand the game’s world.
Among the new gameplay mechanics are speed pads, a stomp move, and a bubblegum shield designed to enhance player jumps. Subway Surfers City will also include three distinct game modes:
- Classic Endless: This mode retains the beloved fast-paced running experience, allowing players to chase high scores and explore new paths, no matter how many times they have played.
- City Tour: This finite mode challenges players to progress through levels with specific objectives, encouraging exploration of the various districts to discover hidden stars and complete missions.
- Events: This mode features a rotating selection of finite challenges and trials aimed at testing the skills of even the most experienced players.
SYBO CEO Mathias Gredal Norvig emphasized the significance of this release, stating,
“At its core, Subway Surfers City is the next chapter of Subway Surfers’ nearly 15-year-long legacy. Subway Surfers continues to experience remarkable success year after year, and we’re thrilled to now provide players with an entirely new way to interact with the IP.”
Since its initial launch, Subway Surfers has surpassed 4.5 billion total downloads and maintains an average of 100 to 150 million monthly active users. The franchise has also seen a spinoff released exclusively on Apple Arcade, titled Subway Surfers Tag.
As anticipation builds for Subway Surfers City, players can look forward to a fresh gaming experience that builds upon the beloved elements of the original game while introducing new features and content.
