Fortnite could be getting a new Exotic version of the Pumpkin Launcher later this season, according to newly discovered game data shared by prominent Fortnite dataminer FireMonkey. The unreleased weapon is reportedly called the Exotic Ramping Rocket Launcher.
FireMonkey disclosed the discovery on August 23, saying the weapon is currently set to arrive later in the season. The information comes from Fortnite’s files rather than an announcement from Epic Games, meaning the weapon’s release should be treated as a leak until the developer officially confirms it or makes it available in-game.
The discovery is notable because it points to more than a routine return of Fortnite’s familiar Pumpkin Launcher. The “Exotic” designation indicates that this is intended to be a special weapon variant, while the internal name referenced by FireMonkey describes it as a “Ramping Rocket Launcher.” However, the datamine shared so far does not establish precisely what will ramp up during use.
There are consequently several important details that remain unknown. FireMonkey’s post did not provide confirmed damage figures, reload times, magazine capacity, acquisition method or a detailed description of the weapon’s special effect. It would therefore be premature to infer whether the ramping mechanic affects damage, firing characteristics or another property.
Epic Games has not publicly announced the Exotic Ramping Rocket Launcher at the time of writing, nor has it provided a release date. The current leak only places the weapon later in the season, and content discovered in Fortnite’s files can be altered, delayed or removed before reaching the live game.
The Pumpkin Launcher itself has a long history in Fortnite. It is a seasonal version of the Rocket Launcher that fires explosive pumpkin-shaped projectiles. Epic’s own Fortnite documentation describes the Pumpkin Launcher as a weapon that shoots exploding pumpkins, holds one rocket and appears in multiple rarities.
The weapon has traditionally been associated with Fortnite’s Halloween periods and has returned to the game on numerous occasions. Epic’s older patch notes show that the standard Rocket Launcher was visually converted into the Pumpkin Rocket Launcher during the game’s early Fortnitemares-era updates, establishing the weapon as one of Fortnite’s recurring seasonal items.
An Exotic version would distinguish the upcoming weapon from those conventional Pumpkin Launcher appearances. Fortnite uses Exotic rarity for weapons with unusual properties that separate them from their standard counterparts, rather than simply offering another step in the normal rarity progression.
The “ramping” terminology also has precedent elsewhere in Fortnite’s weapon design. Epic has previously used weapons whose effectiveness changes through sustained use or successful attacks, although there is currently no evidence establishing that the leaked rocket launcher will copy the behavior of any existing weapon.

For now, the most concrete information is the existence of references to an Exotic Ramping Rocket Launcher in the game data and FireMonkey’s assertion that it is planned for later this season. Its exact function, statistics and method of obtaining it remain unknown.
If the weapon reaches the live game as indicated by the datamine, it would give Fortnite’s longstanding Pumpkin Launcher concept a new Exotic variation rather than simply bringing back the conventional seasonal launcher unchanged. Epic Games has yet to confirm those plans.
