SlashZero will launch in spring 2027, with a limited-time playable demo now available on PlayStation 5 and PC. Sony confirmed the new release window during its September 3 State of Play, where developer Streetlamp Studio also debuted a new story trailer for the 3D anime-style side-scrolling action roguelike. The demo includes three playable characters, boss fights and more than 10 hours of content.
The limited-time test runs from September 3 through September 23, giving players an unusually substantial opportunity to try the game before launch. Alongside previously available characters, the demo introduces another playable Timehacker and expands the available content with new encounters and bosses. Progress from the demo is not being positioned as a permanent save that will transfer into the finished release.
SlashZero takes place in a cyberpunk world fractured across multiple timelines. Players become members of the Timehackers, a resistance force created after mysterious Authority Keys give rise to the Null Void and a threat led by the Lord of the Void, HIEROS. The story revolves around travelling through divergent timelines, recovering uncorrupted Authority Keys and ultimately confronting the force behind the spreading collapse.

Its combat combines side-scrolling level design with 3D movement and a strong emphasis on mobility. Players can dash, vault and move between different layers of an environment while chaining ground attacks into aerial combos. Streetlamp Studio describes the system as being designed around fast transitions between movement and combat rather than separating platforming sections from enemy encounters.
Build customization forms the other major part of the roguelike structure. Players can experiment with different Timehackers and combine Authority Keys, Authority Blessings and Authority Codes to create different setups over successive runs. The game also includes meta progression through the Chamber of Secrets, where collected intelligence can provide additional resources between attempts.
The newest trailer focuses more heavily on SlashZero’s story while still showing its combat systems. Footage moves across distorted timelines and cyberpunk environments as the Timehackers continue their effort to oppose HIEROS. Streetlamp Studio has gradually expanded the playable roster through earlier tests and trailers, with each character providing a different approach to movement, attacks and build construction.
The game was originally announced earlier in 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC. Subsequent gameplay demonstrations have emphasized aerial strings, skill combinations and the ability to continuously alter a build as a run progresses. The spring 2027 window now gives SlashZero a more specific launch target after its earlier appearances left the final release timing unconfirmed.
On PC, SlashZero is planned for Steam and the Epic Games Store. The PlayStation Store currently lists a PS5 version with DualSense vibration and trigger-effect support, while online functionality is optional. No Xbox Series X|S or Nintendo Switch 2 versions have been announced.
The sizeable demo also differentiates this announcement from a conventional short promotional trial. More than 10 hours of available content gives players access to a meaningful portion of SlashZero’s combat and progression systems rather than limiting the experience to an introductory tutorial. It arrives alongside another recent substantial PS5 trial, with Final Fantasy Resonance also releasing a free demo that allows players to experience its opening chapter.
SlashZero is one of several games now targeting the first half of 2027 on PS5. Another action-focused release, Daba : Land of Water Scar, is likewise scheduled for spring 2027, giving Sony’s upcoming calendar several new releases built around fast combat and stylized worlds.
SlashZero launches worldwide in spring 2027 for PlayStation 5 and PC. Its limited-time demo is available now, offering three playable Timehackers, new content, boss encounters and more than 10 hours of gameplay ahead of the full release.
