Grand Theft Auto VI will reportedly let players ride electric scooters around Leonida, with protagonist Jason even able to attack pedestrians while still moving. The detail comes from creator Rubius’ extended visit to Rockstar North, where he watched nearly three hours of GTA VI gameplay alongside Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson. During the demonstration, Nelson reportedly had Jason ride an electric scooter and kick an NPC without dismounting.
Electric scooters had already appeared briefly in GTA VI’s official Extended Look, but that footage alone did not clearly establish how much interaction players would have with them. Creator accounts now indicate they are fully rideable vehicles rather than background traffic or decorative props. That distinction adds another unconventional transport option to a game already showing cars, motorcycles, boats, aircraft, bicycles and several recreational vehicles.
Rubius was among a small group of international creators invited to Rockstar North for longer demonstrations beyond the public presentation. His session reportedly included free-roam gameplay controlled by Nelson, allowing the creator to request different activities and explore details that were not necessarily included in Rockstar’s edited footage. As with other information coming from these visits, the scooter detail should therefore be treated as a reported feature from a preview build rather than a formal Rockstar feature announcement.

The ability to attack NPCs while riding also suggests scooters are integrated into GTA VI’s broader interaction systems rather than functioning as a novelty animation. Jason reportedly kicked a pedestrian while continuing to travel on the scooter, demonstrating that at least some melee actions can be performed without leaving the vehicle. It remains unclear whether players will be able to use weapons from scooters, perform different melee attacks or modify them.
The detail fits with other reports suggesting Rockstar is expanding the number of smaller vehicles and traversal options available around Leonida. Separate creator previews have described electric scooters alongside kayaks, public transport, hundreds of conventional vehicles and deeper vehicle systems. GTA VI’s recent preview details around cars, interiors and world interactivity similarly point toward Rockstar making more of the environment usable rather than leaving objects purely as scenery.
Rockstar’s official Extended Look already showed an unusually broad mix of activities spread throughout Vice City and the surrounding state. Players were shown participating in basketball, racing, diving, kayaking and other activities, while pedestrians and traffic make the urban areas considerably denser than GTA V. Rideable scooters would give players another low-speed way to move directly through those crowded environments.
The report also provides another example of the kind of small systemic interaction Rockstar appears to be prioritizing. Rather than simply adding scooters as a separate vehicle class, the demonstration reportedly allowed Jason’s standard ability to interact aggressively with NPCs to carry over while riding one. Similar crossover between systems has been a recurring theme in the creator previews, where individual mechanics can combine to create unscripted situations.
That approach is also visible in other newly reported gameplay systems. GTA VI will allow players to switch between Jason and Lucia during exploration and missions, while robberies, vehicles and character relationships are said to respond more dynamically to player behavior. The scooter interaction is much smaller in scope, but it reinforces the same emphasis on giving players more freedom in how ordinary activities play out.
It is important to distinguish these preview observations from leaked footage circulating around GTA VI. Rubius was invited by Rockstar and viewed the game directly at Rockstar North, whereas several other gameplay clips appearing online in August came from unauthorized leaks. A separate fake GTA VI gameplay clip was also recently debunked, making source attribution particularly important when new gameplay claims emerge.
Rockstar has not separately published a feature list confirming rideable electric scooters or detailed how extensively they can be used. The preview build was also shown before the game’s final release, meaning individual mechanics could still change. Based on the creator demonstration, however, electric scooters are currently playable and can interact with GTA VI’s melee systems.
Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not announced a PC release date.
