Silent Hill: Townfall will reportedly require a 51.172 GB download on PlayStation 5, with preload dates also appearing in Sony’s backend ahead of its September launch. PlayStation Game Size, an account that tracks information pulled from the PlayStation Store database, reports that the Standard Edition can be preloaded from September 22, while the Deluxe Edition preload begins two days earlier on September 20. The tracker lists the current PS5 version as 02.002.000.
The download figure should be treated as a backend listing rather than an official storage requirement announced by Konami. PlayStation Game Size has established a track record of surfacing file sizes and preload information from Sony’s database before launch, but sizes can still change as release builds and launch-day updates are finalized. Players should therefore expect approximately 51 GB rather than treating 51.172 GB as a guaranteed final installation footprint.
The dates surrounding the listing line up with Konami’s confirmed launch plans. Silent Hill: Townfall’s Standard Edition releases on September 24, 2026, while the $59.99 Deluxe Edition includes 48-hour early access beginning September 22. The standard digital edition is priced at $49.99 in the US PlayStation Store, where Sony currently lists the standard release for September 24 and the Deluxe Edition for September 22. Konami announced the September launch in June, replacing the uncertainty that had surrounded the game after an earlier Silent Hill: Townfall release-date leak.

If the newly surfaced preload information holds, Standard Edition buyers would get roughly two days to download the game before its September 24 unlock. Deluxe Edition owners would similarly be able to begin downloading on September 20, ahead of the early-access period on September 22. That gives both groups a comparable preload window despite the Deluxe Edition opening two days sooner.
Townfall is being developed by Screen Burn Interactive and co-published by Konami and Annapurna Interactive. The game is a first-person psychological horror title set in 1996 on St. Amelia, an isolated island community in Scotland, with Simon Ordell returning to the island to confront his connection to the seemingly abandoned town. Gameplay incorporates exploration, combat, evasion and narrative-focused puzzles, while a portable CRT television acts as a central mechanic for detecting signals and interacting with the environment.
On PS5, Konami and Sony have also confirmed support for DualSense features including adaptive triggers, haptic feedback and motion-controlled interactions. The game is PS5 Pro Enhanced, while PC versions are launching through Steam and the Epic Games Store alongside the standard September 24 release. The reported 51.172 GB figure specifically concerns the PS5 download and should not be assumed to represent the storage requirement on PC.
Silent Hill: Townfall arrives during another active year for Konami’s revived horror franchise, following Silent Hill 2 in 2024 and Silent Hill f in 2025. That cadence also fits with the publisher’s broader plan to maintain a more regular flow of Silent Hill releases after the series spent years largely dormant. With the launch now less than three weeks away, the appearance of preload and build information in PlayStation’s backend suggests preparations for the final PS5 rollout are well underway.
