Rebel Wolves is already moving ahead with the next chapter of its Dawnwalker series, just days after the launch of The Blood of Dawnwalker. The studio is currently recruiting a Lead Writer for its Narrative Team, while Narrative Director Jakub Szamalek has described the position as an opportunity to help shape the “next chapter in the Dawnwalker saga.” Rebel Wolves has not formally announced a sequel title, release window or platforms.

The recruitment itself provides the clearest first-party evidence that development on the broader series is already underway. Rebel Wolves’ Lead Writer listing says the studio is working on an AAA dark fantasy RPG that serves as the first title in a planned saga set within its own new universe. The successful applicant will work under the Narrative Director while managing the writing team and helping shape stories, dialogue, cutscenes and the wider lore of the IP.

That wording matters because Rebel Wolves has long described The Blood of Dawnwalker as the beginning of something larger rather than a standalone project. The studio’s current recruitment material explicitly calls the released game the “first title of a planned saga,” while the Lead Writer role includes responsibility for expanding the company’s new IP and maintaining consistency across its lore. Szamalek’s reference to the next chapter now makes clear that narrative work on that continuation is moving forward.

The position also gives some insight into how Rebel Wolves intends to approach its future storytelling. The Lead Writer will review story pitches, outlines and dialogue, write cutscene and CGI scripts, contribute in-game documents and work closely with other team leads. Rebel Wolves is specifically asking for experience creating interactive, non-linear stories, which closely matches the design philosophy behind The Blood of Dawnwalker’s narrative sandbox.

That first game launched on September 3 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, introducing Rebel Wolves’ original dark-fantasy universe. Players control Coen, a Dawnwalker caught between human and vampire states, while exploring Vale Sangora and managing a limited amount of time as they choose which quests and storylines to pursue. Decisions can close off other opportunities, making narrative structure a central part of the game’s design rather than simply a layer around combat and exploration.

Rebel Wolves has been explicit about wanting to build its RPGs around player choice. Its studio material describes the narrative sandbox as a way of putting the story directly into the player’s hands, with different decisions producing distinct paths through the experience. Hiring a senior writing lead at this stage suggests the studio is already building the narrative framework needed to continue that approach in another Dawnwalker project.

The listing does not establish whether the next chapter will directly continue Coen’s story, follow another protagonist or move to a different location within the same universe. It also does not reveal whether the next project is a full sequel, another standalone entry within the saga or something smaller. Those distinctions remain important, particularly because no official announcement has yet named the project.

Development is also likely to be at an early stage. The Lead Writer is expected to help shape stories, expand the IP’s lore and manage the writing team, responsibilities that generally sit near the foundations of a game’s narrative production. Rebel Wolves therefore appears to be preparing the creative groundwork for its next title rather than approaching a near-term reveal.

For now, the important development is that The Blood of Dawnwalker was not simply described as the start of a saga for marketing purposes. Rebel Wolves is actively hiring senior narrative leadership while referring to the next chapter of that saga, providing concrete evidence that the studio has already started moving beyond its debut game. What that next Dawnwalker project actually looks like will remain unclear until Rebel Wolves is ready to formally reveal it.
