Nacon has officially unveiled the Revolution 5 Unlimited, a new high-end wireless controller for PlayStation 5 and PC that combines an asymmetric Xbox-style stick layout with a built-in command display and TMR magnetic joysticks. The controller is officially licensed for PS5, priced at $199.90 in the US and €199.90 in Europe, and is scheduled to launch on October 21, 2026. Pre-orders are already open through Nacon.

The controller’s most distinctive feature is its integrated display, which allows players to change key settings without leaving a game. Nacon says users can remap buttons and shortcuts, calibrate stick response curves and dead zones, adjust game and chat audio balance, and control microphone levels directly from the controller. That reduces the need to switch over to a desktop or mobile configuration app every time a small adjustment is needed.

Nacon is also moving from Hall-effect sticks to TMR, or tunneling magnetoresistance, technology for the Revolution 5 Unlimited. The company says the contactless sticks offer higher aiming resolution, lower power consumption and improved durability because they avoid the friction and mechanical wear associated with traditional potentiometers. The controller retains the asymmetric stick arrangement associated more closely with Xbox controllers, despite being officially licensed for PlayStation 5.

The triggers can operate in two different modes. Players can use full analog Hall-effect travel for racing and other games that benefit from gradual input, or switch to short mechanical hair-trigger actuation for faster response in shooters and fighting games. The D-pad and face buttons also use mechanical micro-switches, while seven additional programmable shortcut buttons are positioned around the controller.

PC support goes further than simple compatibility. Nacon says the Revolution 5 Unlimited can operate at a 1000Hz polling rate with 1ms latency on PC, although the company notes that PC and Smart TV compatibility is not tested or endorsed by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The controller also includes a six-axis gyroscope that Nacon says works on both PS5 and PC.

Physical customization is another major part of the package. Nacon includes six interchangeable stick caps, four stick travel rings, six removable weights and a choice between four-way and eight-way D-pads. Players can also customize the RGB lighting around the right stick, while a companion app for iOS and Android provides additional profile, audio EQ and dead-zone controls.

A magnetic charging dock is included with the controller and uses pogo-pin contacts to recharge it. The dock also incorporates a USB pass-through port intended for the 2.4GHz wireless receiver, allowing the dongle to remain connected through the dock rather than occupying another easily accessible console or PC port. Wired play is supported as well through the included three-meter USB cable.

The Revolution 5 Unlimited sits above Nacon’s existing Revolution 5 Pro in functionality rather than replacing it with a completely different design philosophy. Both target players who want a premium alternative to the standard DualSense, but the new model adds the command display, TMR sticks, charging dock and a stronger emphasis on real-time customization. At $199.90, it enters the same broad price range as other high-end competitive controllers rather than the mainstream gamepad market.

Nacon’s official product listing confirms compatibility with PlayStation 5 and Windows, along with wireless and wired operation, configurable profiles, programmable controls and headset support. Sony’s licensing program also lists Nacon among approved PlayStation accessory manufacturers, though the Revolution 5 Unlimited is being sold and supported by Nacon rather than Sony itself.

For players who prefer the asymmetric layout of an Xbox controller but primarily play on PS5, the Revolution 5 Unlimited fills a relatively specific niche. The combination of TMR sticks, mechanical controls, integrated display and 1000Hz PC polling also makes it one of Nacon’s most technically ambitious controllers to date. Its launch on October 21 will show whether those additions are enough to justify the premium price over the company’s existing Revolution 5 Pro.
