Activision and Toys for Bob have revealed Arcadian Vale, one of the first regions players will explore in Spyro: A Realm Beyond. The new look was shared on September 9 as part of Spyro Community Day 2026, giving fans fresh artwork and environmental details from the upcoming 2027 adventure. The reveal expands on the game’s initial announcement earlier this summer without introducing a new release date.

Arcadian Vale is described as a calm and vibrant area built around the colorful fantasy style associated with the series. New artwork shows large waterfalls descending from high cliffs, ancient stone structures spread across the landscape and extensive greenery covering the valley below. Toys for Bob is also filling the area with smaller environmental details, including wildlife and the fodder creatures traditionally associated with Spyro’s worlds.

Activision says Arcadian Vale is one of the early regions players will discover, making it one of the clearest looks yet at how A Realm Beyond structures its new setting. The studio has not explained exactly how large the region is or whether its different areas are connected seamlessly, but the imagery emphasizes considerable vertical space. That is particularly relevant because A Realm Beyond introduces unrestricted dragon flight as one of its defining gameplay additions.

True flight was one of the main features highlighted when Spyro: A Realm Beyond was announced during the Xbox Games Showcase in June. Unlike the limited gliding and dedicated flight stages found throughout earlier entries, the new game allows Spyro to take to the air more freely while exploring its environments. Toys for Bob has described the mechanic as an extension of the familiar rhythm of charging, jumping, gliding and hunting for treasure rather than a replacement for the traditional Spyro movement system.

Arcadian Vale appears designed to make use of that expanded mobility. Its tall cliffs, waterfalls, ruins and open skies create multiple elevations that could be approached from above as well as from the ground, although Toys for Bob has not yet outlined specific activities or objectives within the region. The studio has similarly avoided detailing enemies, collectibles or major characters associated specifically with the Vale.

Spyro Community Day also included new celebratory artwork showing Spyro and other familiar faces from the series. Activision marked the occasion with a burn-away cake promotion sent to creators, fans and members of the press, with the reveal underneath pointing toward the latest look at A Realm Beyond. The Community Day post itself focused primarily on thanking longtime players while teasing that considerably more information about the new game is still to come.

Spyro: A Realm Beyond is an original new entry developed by Toys for Bob, the studio behind Spyro Reignited Trilogy. The game finds Spyro stranded in an unfamiliar realm where his attempts to return home are interrupted by an invading force known as the Scavs. He will need to form new alliances and help defend the realm while exploring environments designed around the series’ newly expanded movement system.

The project marks the first completely original mainline Spyro adventure in nearly two decades. Toys for Bob has said its goal is to preserve the tone and movement that defined the earlier games while building a larger and more modern adventure around them. Longtime voice actor Tom Kenny is also returning as Spyro.

Spyro: A Realm Beyond is currently scheduled for spring 2027. It will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, with the Xbox and PC versions also available through Game Pass at release.

For now, Arcadian Vale provides the most detailed look yet at one of the places players will actually explore. Its waterfalls, ancient ruins, wildlife and wide vertical spaces also offer an early indication of how Toys for Bob intends to build environments around Spyro’s new ability to freely take flight.
