LEVEL-5 has confirmed that Snack World: Reloaded will launch worldwide in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam. The new release window was announced during LEVEL5 VISION 2026 II on September 10, giving the remake its first concrete launch timing since being revealed earlier this year. A specific month or date has not yet been announced.
Snack World: Reloaded was first unveiled during LEVEL5 VISION 2026 Craftsmanship in April. LEVEL-5 described the project as a heavily rebuilt version of Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl – Gold rather than a straightforward remaster, with major changes planned across gameplay, controls, presentation and story content. President and CEO Akihiro Hino said at the time that the scale of the changes made it feel almost like a completely new game.
One of the most visible upgrades is the presentation. LEVEL-5 says Reloaded features significantly enhanced graphics intended to create the impression of exploring a carefully constructed diorama, replacing the comparatively simpler look of the earlier versions. The remake retains the colorful fantasy setting and exaggerated character designs associated with the series while rebuilding its environments for newer hardware.

Gameplay is also being revised rather than simply reproduced. Snack World revolves around dungeon exploration, combat, collecting equipment and progressing through quests, with players acquiring weapons known as Jaras while taking on increasingly difficult encounters. LEVEL-5 has said the remake will feature substantial refinements to both gameplay and controls, although it has not yet provided a complete breakdown of how every system differs from The Dungeon Crawl – Gold.
Reloaded will also introduce a new mode that allows players to control Chup, the protagonist of the Snack World anime. That creates an additional perspective on the story beyond the player-created character used in the earlier game. LEVEL-5 has presented the new scenario as one of the major additions helping distinguish Reloaded from the previous versions rather than merely updating their graphics.
The original Snack World launched for Nintendo 3DS in Japan in 2017 before receiving an expanded Nintendo Switch version, Snack World: Trejarers Gold. That Switch release later arrived internationally in 2020 as Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl – Gold. The series combines action RPG dungeon crawling with LEVEL-5’s broader cross-media approach, having also expanded into animation, toys and other merchandise.
The remake’s platform lineup represents another major change for the series. Snack World has historically been closely tied to Nintendo hardware, but Reloaded will launch simultaneously across Switch 2, PS5 and Steam. That gives the revived RPG a substantially broader audience and continues LEVEL-5’s recent move toward releasing more of its major projects across multiple platforms.
Its 2027 timing also places Reloaded alongside several other LEVEL-5 projects now scheduled for next year. The publisher has confirmed that Holy Horror Mansion will also launch in 2027 for PS5, Switch 2 and PC, while other projects across the company’s lineup continue moving toward their own release windows. LEVEL-5 is therefore building a particularly busy schedule around its newer current-generation releases.
The company has not yet announced pricing, editions or a more specific release period for Snack World: Reloaded. It also remains unclear exactly how much content from The Dungeon Crawl – Gold will be reworked or supplemented beyond the already confirmed Chup-focused mode and broader gameplay revisions. More detailed information is expected as LEVEL-5 gets closer to launch.
For now, the September showcase establishes the clearest release plan yet for the project. Snack World: Reloaded is officially targeting 2027 across PS5, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, with LEVEL-5 continuing to position it as a major reconstruction of the original action RPG rather than a simple re-release.
