Fortnite Battle Royale now includes playable arcade mini-games directly on the Chapter 7 Season 4 island. Following the September 17 v42.20 update, players can interact with arcade cabinets at the Arcade location beside the building widely linked to Fortnite’s ongoing Five Nights at Freddy’s teasers. Fortnite dataminer HYPEX reports that five different games are currently available at the location.

The feature had been discovered in Fortnite’s files several weeks before its release. Datamined code indicated that Epic Games was developing interactive arcade machines capable of opening a separate 2D game interface during a normal Battle Royale match. At the time, only two mini-games had been identified in detail: a Pac-Man-style game and Arcade Volley, a Pong-inspired game played against an AI opponent.

The earlier files also revealed how the system would function inside Battle Royale. Interacting with a cabinet switches the player’s controls over to the arcade game while their Fortnite character remains in the match, effectively turning an arcade session into an activity performed during a live BR round rather than a separate Discover experience. The code included support for keyboard and mouse, controllers and mobile controls, suggesting the system was built to function consistently across Fortnite’s supported platforms.

The September 17 update appears to expand that original implementation considerably. HYPEX now says five games can be played at the Arcade store, although the names and mechanics of every available cabinet have not yet been independently detailed. The jump from the two games found in the initial datamine suggests Epic either kept additional arcade titles out of those earlier files or added them as development continued.

One of the previously uncovered games closely reproduces Pac-Man’s basic arcade structure, including ghosts, dots, power pellets, fruit, lives and a scoring system. Its arrival fits particularly well with Fortnite’s larger Pac-Man collaboration, which has expanded during the same update cycle with new crossover gameplay and cosmetics. Arcade Volley, meanwhile, was described in the files as a paddle-based game against an AI opponent with increasing difficulty and a target winning score.

The physical location of the machines is also notable. The Arcade landmark sits beside the structure players have spent weeks connecting to Five Nights at Freddy’s, after its design and gradual construction prompted increasing speculation around a FNAF collaboration. The building has continued changing across Fortnite updates, while datamined material has pointed toward further Fortnitemares-related changes in the surrounding area.

That does not mean the arcade mini-games themselves are confirmed FNAF content. Epic Games has not publicly identified the nearby building as Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, and the arcade system had already been datamined as a broader Fortnite feature before the latest map changes. Its placement beside the suspected pizzeria nevertheless makes the area increasingly significant as Epic builds toward Fortnitemares.

Other evidence surrounding the location has been more explicitly tied to Five Nights at Freddy’s. Dataminers previously uncovered a reported FNAF-themed jumpscare Lobby Hack, while the pizzeria-like structure itself has received incremental changes across successive patches. Taken together, those discoveries have kept the area at the center of speculation about how a potential crossover could be introduced.

The arcade machines are different because players can now interact with them directly in ordinary Battle Royale matches. They are not merely decorative props or leaked assets waiting for a later event, but functioning mini-games embedded inside the live island. That gives Fortnite another example of gameplay existing within its core Battle Royale environment without requiring players to leave for a separate mode.

Epic Games has not yet provided a full official breakdown of the five arcade games or explained whether additional cabinets will be introduced later in the season. Earlier datamines also referenced a broader arcade concept containing several possible game names, though those findings should not be treated as confirmation that all of them will appear in Battle Royale.

For now, players can visit the Arcade location in Fortnite BR and use five playable machines following the v42.20 update. The feature arrives as the surrounding area continues evolving toward Fortnitemares, making an already closely watched section of the island considerably more interactive.
