A new Fortnite datamine reportedly points to a Five Nights at Freddy’s-themed Lobby Hack that will trigger a jumpscare teaser before Fortnitemares 2026 begins. HYPEX says the discovery comes from dataminer unrealhybrid and involves an unreleased Lobby Hack code that causes the player’s screen to glitch and turn black before playing a dedicated teaser video. The code is reportedly scheduled to be revealed before October 1, although Epic Games has not officially announced the activation.

The discovery provides a more concrete look at how Fortnite may tease its increasingly likely Five Nights at Freddy’s collaboration. According to HYPEX, Epic already has the Lobby Hack content prepared but hidden for a future hotfix, with the jumpscare sequence intended to become available before the main Fortnitemares update. The exact code, activation date and contents of the teaser video have not yet been publicly revealed.

Lobby Hacks are a newer Fortnite system that lets players enter special codes through the Battle Royale Admin Panel to trigger rewards, visual changes or other effects. One recent example, the DustInTheWind Lobby Hack code, awarded 5,000 Sprite Dust after activation. The reported FNAF code appears to use the same underlying system for a promotional scare rather than simply distributing an item or currency reward.

The jumpscare leak follows several other pieces of evidence connecting Five Nights at Freddy’s to this year’s Fortnitemares event. Recent Fortnite files and map changes have pointed toward a pizzeria-inspired location, while dataminers have uncovered camera-feed imagery and other horror-themed material associated with the area. Those discoveries have helped strengthen the evidence for a Fortnite and FNAF crossover even though Epic has yet to make the collaboration official.

HYPEX also reports that televisions at the Battlewoods area are expected to display security-camera feeds with static, grain and scanline effects. That presentation closely resembles the surveillance-camera structure associated with Five Nights at Freddy’s, where players monitor animatronics through security feeds while surviving a night shift. The combination of those feeds and a separate jumpscare-triggering Lobby Hack makes the current teaser campaign considerably more specific than earlier environmental hints.

The timing is also notable. Fortnite’s v42.20 update arrived on September 17 with files tied to several upcoming collaborations and additional Lobby Hack functionality, while Fortnitemares is expected to receive its major update around October 1. HYPEX’s claim that the mystery code should be announced before that date suggests Epic may use the Lobby Hack as a bridge between the current season and the full Halloween event.

Five Nights at Freddy’s had already been linked to Fortnitemares through earlier leaks. A reported FNAF collaboration for Fortnitemares 2026 emerged after weeks of pizzeria-related teasers, map changes and datamined references. The newly discovered Lobby Hack does not independently confirm the complete crossover lineup, but it adds another purpose-built asset that appears designed to tease the franchise directly.

It remains unclear what the jumpscare video itself contains. Dataminers have described its behavior and associated audio effects, but the full teaser has not been publicly released in a form that establishes which character or animatronic will appear. There is also no official information yet on potential FNAF skins, cosmetics, weapons or gameplay mechanics connected to the crossover.

Epic Games has not announced the Lobby Hack, Five Nights at Freddy’s collaboration or an exact Fortnitemares 2026 launch date through its public Fortnite channels. Until that happens, the code, jumpscare sequence and October timing should remain treated as datamined material that could still change before release.

If the current files are used as expected, players should see the mystery Lobby Hack become available before October 1, with entering the code triggering a screen glitch followed by a FNAF-style jumpscare teaser. That would give Epic a direct in-game reveal mechanism for the crossover ahead of the broader Fortnitemares rollout.
