The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered will reportedly require a 68.57 GB download on PlayStation 5 when it launches September 29. Backend tracker PlayStation Game Size lists the PS5 build as version 05.000.100 and says there will be no preload for the upgrade. The tracker also gives an 11 AM BST release time, matching the global launch schedule confirmed for the remaster.
CD Projekt Red officially announced The Witcher 3 Remastered in August, confirming that it will arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 on September 29. Existing owners on qualifying platforms will receive Remastered as a free upgrade, while the new version includes both Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. CD Projekt Red describes the release as an upgraded version featuring improvements to visuals, performance, gameplay and other areas.
The reported 68.57 GB figure applies specifically to the PlayStation 5 package surfaced by PlayStation Game Size, so install requirements may differ on PC, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The backend listing also identifies the release build as version 05.000.100. Sony and CD Projekt Red have not separately published the PS5 download size in the material reviewed for this report, so the storage figure should be treated as backend information rather than an officially announced specification.

The lack of a preload is consistent with how the upgrade is being distributed on platforms where The Witcher 3 already exists. Reporting around the launch indicates that GOG, Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox and PlayStation owners will receive Remastered as an update to the existing game rather than as a separate advance download. Nintendo Switch 2 and Battle.net are different cases because they are new platform releases, with pre-purchase available ahead of launch.
CD Projekt Red has also confirmed a simultaneous worldwide release. The game is scheduled to unlock at 10 AM UTC on September 29, corresponding to 11 AM BST in London, 12 PM CEST in Warsaw, 6 AM EDT in New York and 3 AM PDT in Los Angeles. That same launch timing applies across the supported platforms rather than using separate regional midnight releases.
On Xbox, the remaster is also expanding the game’s platform support through Xbox Play Anywhere. Eligible owners will be able to access the game across Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC without buying another copy. The broader release also marks the first native version of The Witcher 3 for Nintendo Switch 2 and the game’s debut on Battle.net.
Remastered is being developed with support from Yigsoft, which previously worked with CD Projekt Red on The Witcher 3 REDkit and post-launch updates for Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt Red says the new edition will modernize the original while retaining the core game, with enhancements spanning graphics, gameplay and performance. Existing saves are expected to remain compatible, although some skills and settings will be reset because of changes introduced by the upgrade.
The September 29 launch also precedes The Witcher 3’s newly announced third expansion, Songs of the Past, which is scheduled for 2027. That expansion will take Geralt to the new region of Letten and is being developed in collaboration with Fool’s Theory. For PS5 players preparing for the remaster itself, however, the immediate practical detail is the reported 68.57 GB download and the absence of a preload before the global release time.
