New Grand Theft Auto VI billboards carrying Spotify branding have appeared in Los Angeles, Miami and New York, expanding the music-focused promotional campaign that began with coordinated posts from several major artists. The outdoor ads use extended versions of GTA VI-style artwork shared online a day earlier, while Spotify has also posted images of the placements through its own social channels. Rockstar Games has not yet announced exactly what the campaign is leading toward.

The billboards are notable because they connect Spotify directly to the broader GTA VI music rollout rather than simply featuring Rockstar branding on its own. RockstarINTEL reports that the ads have appeared across multiple US cities and include imagery associated with artists who recently shared GTA VI-styled artwork. Spotify’s logo appears alongside the campaign material, confirming the streaming service is participating in the promotion even though no formal soundtrack announcement has been made.

The physical ads follow a coordinated burst of posts from musicians including Travis Scott, Future, Metro Boomin, Morgan Wallen, Yung Lean, Keith Richards, Rauw Alejandro and CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso. Several of those artists published GTA VI-style illustrations on September 15, with Scott directly tagging Rockstar Games and referring to the post as the first phase of his return to gaming. The coordinated artist teasers immediately prompted speculation about radio stations, soundtrack placements or other music-related involvement, although Rockstar has not confirmed individual roles.

The billboard artwork appears to build directly on those posts. One campaign image centers on an iguana, while others use imagery involving a pool, yacht, flamingo float and other Leonida-style scenes that were previously posted by individual artists. The consistent art direction across those posts and the Spotify-backed billboards makes it increasingly clear that the images are part of one coordinated marketing campaign rather than unrelated fan speculation.

What remains unclear is what Spotify’s involvement actually means for GTA VI itself. The company recently assembled a Grand Theft Auto Radio playlist containing music featured in Rockstar’s extended gameplay presentation, and several songs from that video subsequently recorded large streaming increases. That provides an obvious promotional connection between Spotify and GTA VI, but it does not confirm in-game Spotify integration, user-created radio stations or any similar gameplay feature.

The timing also comes as Rockstar’s broader pre-launch campaign is beginning to move beyond trailers and social posts. Miami-area officials have already discussed and approved various GTA VI promotional placements tied to the game’s Vice City setting, with additional Miami Beach marketing planned for October. The new Spotify billboards appear to represent a separate music-focused effort, but both campaigns point to Rockstar increasing its real-world advertising activity ahead of launch.

Music has played a particularly large role in GTA VI’s recent promotion. Rockstar’s extended gameplay presentation used a wide range of licensed tracks, and Spotify data showed substantial streaming gains for several of the songs afterward. Artists including Bob Moses, Elderbrook, Chimbala, Omega, Cliff Richard and others saw noticeable increases in plays and discovery after appearing in the presentation.

That response helps explain why Spotify would be a natural partner for a larger campaign. Grand Theft Auto has historically used licensed radio stations as a major part of its identity, and GTA VI’s marketing has continued to emphasize music through trailers, artist posts and curated playlists. The current billboards strengthen the connection without yet revealing whether the campaign will culminate in a full soundtrack announcement, radio-station reveal or something else.

Rockstar has not published a complete GTA VI soundtrack or station lineup, and the presence of an artist in promotional artwork should not automatically be treated as confirmation that they will appear in the game. Several musicians have clearly participated in the marketing campaign, but their exact roles remain undisclosed.

For now, the clearest development is that Spotify has joined the GTA VI promotional rollout in a visible way, with branded billboards now appearing in major US cities. With Rockstar’s November 19 launch approaching and its real-world marketing footprint expanding, the campaign appears to be moving into a more active pre-release phase.
