Grand Theft Auto VI marketing could begin appearing across Miami Beach on October 15, according to documents prepared for an upcoming City Commission meeting. A proposed resolution would authorize city officials to negotiate an agreement with Amplify Marketing Inc. for GTA VI signage and other promotional materials on beachfront concession equipment and potentially additional public property. The document specifically describes a marketing campaign commencing October 15, 2026, to promote Rockstar Games’ upcoming release.

The proposal appears on the agenda for the Miami Beach City Commission meeting scheduled for September 10, meaning the arrangement has not yet received final approval. If adopted, the resolution would authorize the City Manager to negotiate the agreement and determine which additional pieces of public property could be used beyond beachfront concession equipment. The City Manager and City Clerk would then be authorized to execute the resulting agreement once its final form is accepted by the City Attorney.

That distinction means October 15 should currently be treated as the proposed start of the Miami Beach campaign rather than confirmation that GTA VI billboards will definitely appear across the city on that date. The agenda language does, however, provide unusually concrete documentary evidence of local promotional planning connected directly to GTA VI and Rockstar Games. It also identifies Amplify Marketing Inc. as the company involved in arranging the proposed installation.

The timing would place the start of the Miami Beach promotion just over a month before Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026. Rockstar currently lists the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Jason and Lucia’s story taking players back to Vice City and across the fictional state of Leonida. Miami and surrounding South Florida locations have provided an obvious real-world reference point for the game’s setting, making the region a particularly relevant location for physical advertising.

The Miami Beach proposal is separate from, but closely related to, broader discussions about using local public assets to promote the game. Miami-Dade County has already been considering a GTA VI partnership involving Vice City-themed public installations, including reported concepts for Miami International Airport, transit assets and other spaces. Those discussions indicate that Rockstar-related marketing plans in South Florida may extend well beyond conventional commercial billboards.

Not everyone in local government supports that broader approach. Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz and Commissioner Juan Carlos Bermudez have publicly opposed the reported use of county resources to promote GTA VI, particularly the possibility of temporarily branding Miami International Airport as “Vice City Airport.” Their criticism has focused on whether taxpayer-supported facilities and public brands should be associated with a franchise centered on fictional crime and violence.

That opposition has already created a political debate around the proposed GTA VI promotional partnership in Miami-Dade, but the Miami Beach agenda item shows that discussions about public-facing marketing are continuing elsewhere in the region. Unlike the airport concept, the Miami Beach resolution specifically identifies beachfront concession equipment and gives the City Manager discretion over other public-property placements. It does not detail the final artwork, exact locations, quantity of signage or how extensively the campaign would cover Miami Beach.

The October 15 date is therefore significant primarily because it provides the clearest potential starting point yet for a physical GTA VI campaign in the city. Rockstar has already accelerated promotion around the game in recent months through preorders, new gameplay footage and official PlayStation partnerships. A coordinated outdoor campaign in the real-world city that inspired Vice City would represent another stage of that rollout as the November launch approaches.

Further details should become clearer after the September 10 Miami Beach City Commission meeting. Until the resolution is considered and an agreement is finalized, the proposed signage should not be treated as guaranteed. The public agenda nevertheless establishes that officials are considering a GTA VI marketing campaign scheduled to commence October 15, potentially putting Rockstar branding on beachfront equipment and other approved public spaces roughly five weeks before the game’s November 19 release.
