Com2uS has officially renamed GACHIAKUTA: The Game to GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT and confirmed that the survival action RPG will launch in 2027. The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with an extended gameplay reveal shown during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 broadcast. A specific release date has not yet been announced.

GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT is based on Kei Urana’s manga and its television anime adaptation, placing players inside the series’ trash-filled world with a focus on fast, close-range combat. Xbox describes the game as a survival action RPG built around melee-focused encounters, while Com2uS has previously said players will enter dangerous zones, complete objectives and return safely to secure areas. The project is designed to translate Gachiakuta’s distinctive graffiti-inspired visual identity into a fully playable console and PC experience.

The latest footage provides one of the most extensive looks at the game so far. It shows Rudo moving through environments filled with discarded structures and debris before entering combat against enemies using large, highly animated attacks. The presentation uses a cartoon-style rendering technique intended to preserve the strong outlines, exaggerated colors and visual energy associated with the anime.

Combat remains the main focus of the new trailer, with Rudo using his abilities at close range while facing groups of enemies and larger threats. The footage also includes sequences involving Jabber and a boss encounter, giving a clearer idea of how character-driven confrontations from the source material will translate into gameplay. Com2uS has not yet provided a full breakdown of progression systems, mission structure or the size of the explorable areas.

The game had previously been announced under the working title GACHIAKUTA: The Game in December 2025. At the time, Com2uS confirmed PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC versions but did not provide a release window. The company later released individual combat preview videos highlighting Rudo, Enjin, Zanka and Riyo, establishing that multiple familiar characters from the series would appear in the project.

BREAKOUT now gives that project a finalized title and a concrete 2027 launch window. The name change also separates the game more clearly from the manga and anime rather than continuing with the generic working title used throughout early development. Com2uS has not indicated whether the new name reflects any broader change in direction since the original announcement.

The Xbox presentation confirmed that the Xbox Series X|S and PC versions will support Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing eligible players to move between console and PC without purchasing the game twice. PlayStation 5 remains part of the announced platform lineup, although the Xbox showcase naturally concentrated on Microsoft’s versions. No Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 edition has been announced.

Gachiakuta follows Rudo, who is cast from the floating Sphere into the Abyss below, where discarded objects and accumulated waste create dangerous creatures. He eventually joins the Cleaners and discovers his ability to draw power from objects, forming the basis for the series’ unusual combat style. That emphasis on turning discarded items into weapons is also central to the game’s visual and mechanical identity.

The project is one of several console and PC games Com2uS has been developing around established entertainment properties, but GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT is being positioned as a full survival action RPG rather than a smaller tie-in release. Its 2027 window also gives the developers additional time to expand on the combat demonstrations already released throughout 2026.

Com2uS has not yet announced pricing, editions or a narrower release period. GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT is currently scheduled for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2027, with the latest gameplay reveal offering the clearest look yet at how the manga and anime’s stylized world will translate into an action RPG.
