Wuthering Waves Version 3.7, titled “Prism’s Illusion, Heart’s Illumination,” will launch on September 30, Kuro Games has announced. The update continues the game’s current story with Chapter IV Act IV: Simulacrum of the Heart while introducing new Resonators, areas, events and several major quality-of-life additions. Kuro Games detailed the update through its Version 3.7 preview broadcast alongside a new trailer and geographic preview.
The update introduces two new playable Resonators, Hsin and Suoming, through Featured Resonator Convenes. Hsin has previously been identified by Kuro Games as the Sentinel of Mengzhou, making her a significant addition to the playable roster, while Suoming joins her as another new character tied to the continuing Huanglong storyline. Two new weapons, Blooming Jadehaven and Unspoken Rue, will also arrive alongside the new Resonators.
Version 3.7 expands the story with the new Main Quest Chapter IV Act IV: Simulacrum of the Heart and the Tales Quest Moonlike Heart, Mortal Longing. Players will also be able to explore the Simulacrum Nexus of Mengzhou, while Blooms for the Shadow is being added as a permanent event. The update continues the game’s ongoing focus on Mengzhou while adding additional activities tied to exploration, combat and character progression.

The Echo system is also receiving a substantial expansion. Five new Echoes are being added: Formrender, Soulfrayer, Skywatch Lancer, Bloomburst Puppet and Jade Nether Serpent, alongside three new Sonata Effects called Heart of Sworn Vigil, Flash of Electric Reflection and Flower of Tinged Yearning. Players will additionally be able to obtain Phantom: Skywatch Lancer as a new Phantom Echo.
One of the more notable quality-of-life additions is Main Quest Replay through the Journey Log. At launch, players will be able to revisit main quests from Version 1.1: Thaw of Eons, the Moon-Chasing Festival content from Version 1.2: In the Turquoise Moonglow, and Version 1.3: To the Shore’s End. Replay progress will be saved when players exit the mode, allowing them to resume later, while Kuro Games plans to add more chapters to the system in future updates.
Echo inventory management is also being streamlined. Unequipped and non-upgraded Echoes that share the same Echo type, Sonata Effect and Mainstat will automatically stack together, with each backpack entry capable of holding up to 999 Echoes. Recommendation menus will additionally provide Resonance Mode-specific Echo set suggestions for characters that support two Resonance Modes.
Version 3.7 also delivers a major overhaul to Wuthering Waves’ photography tools. The Camera System will gain Handheld and Selfie Modes, adjustable poses and expressions, a more freely controllable drone-style perspective for Tripod Mode, Reference Lines, Quick Focus and Lens Templates. Players will also be able to adjust environmental settings such as time, weather and foliage wind direction while using the camera, alongside filter and lighting controls.
Team management is being expanded at the same time, increasing the maximum number of saved team setups to 20. Players will be able to name and reorder teams, while a new 3D Team Setup Mode will offer an alternative way to view party compositions, although Kuro Games says some devices may not support the feature. Version 3.7 will also begin limited testing of Tiered Client Resource Downloads, letting eligible PC players choose between UHD, HD and SD resources, while eligible mobile users can select HD or SD downloads to balance visual quality against storage requirements.
A range of limited-time activities will run throughout the update, including Cubie Wars, Gifts of Waking Moon, Echo Erase, Dreams in the Capsule, Past Dreams, Traced Seals, Artisan’s Search and Beyond the Waves: Land of Xuanfang. Kuro Games also revealed Wuwa Tappo, upcoming Wuthering Waves desktop pet software, during the preview. Wuthering Waves Version 3.7 launches September 30 across its supported platforms.
