Stellar Blade Complete Edition now has a downloadable demo on Nintendo Switch 2, giving players a chance to try Shift Up’s action game ahead of its November release. The demo was released alongside a new Bayonetta collaboration vignette during Tokyo Game Show 2026, expanding on the crossover content already confirmed for the Switch 2 version. The trial follows the game’s first public Switch 2 hands-on sessions at the Sega/Atlus booth during the event.

The eShop demo provides a broader opportunity to test the port without attending Tokyo Game Show, where six Switch 2 demo stations had been available. Shift Up had previously promoted the event as the first time members of the public could play Stellar Blade on Nintendo hardware. The downloadable version now allows players in supported regions to evaluate the game’s combat and presentation on Switch 2 ahead of launch.

Stellar Blade Complete Edition is scheduled to release for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 6 in Japan and Korea, corresponding to November 5 in some Western time zones. The Switch 2 Complete Edition includes the base game together with previously released downloadable content and the newly announced Bayonetta collaboration. Shift Up is publishing the Nintendo version, while the original PlayStation 5 and PC releases were published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

The Bayonetta crossover adds several outfits inspired by PlatinumGames’ action series. Shift Up previously confirmed costumes based on Bayonetta, Jeanne and a nun outfit, alongside another design that has not yet been fully revealed. The newly released collaboration vignette gives the crossover another promotional showcase ahead of launch rather than introducing the partnership for the first time.

The Switch 2 version also includes platform-specific features, including support for Joy-Con 2 motion controls during certain activities. Shift Up has spent the weeks leading into release demonstrating how the game has been adapted to Nintendo’s hardware, including gameplay footage and public demonstrations at Tokyo Game Show. The Complete Edition retains Stellar Blade’s story-driven structure, combat systems and post-launch content while packaging them into a single Switch 2 release.

Physical buyers will also receive the complete game directly on the cartridge rather than a download-key card. Retail information indicates that Stellar Blade uses a 32GB Switch 2 game card, an increasingly notable detail as some large third-party releases use Game-Key Cards instead. That means the primary game data is stored on the physical cartridge, although future updates may still require downloads.

Stellar Blade originally launched for PlayStation 5 in April 2024 before arriving on PC in June 2025. The game follows EVE, a member of the 7th Airborne Squad sent back to a devastated Earth to fight the Naytiba and investigate what happened to humanity. Its combat combines melee attacks, parries, dodges, skills and ranged abilities across linear areas and larger explorable regions.

The arrival of the Switch 2 demo gives players a practical way to judge how that combat translates to Nintendo’s hardware before buying the Complete Edition. It also comes shortly after the first public TGS build, meaning players no longer need access to the show floor to test the port. With the Bayonetta vignette released at the same time, Shift Up is using the final weeks before launch to highlight both the technical adaptation and the new crossover content included with the Switch 2 release.
