Shift Up has confirmed that Stellar Blade Complete Edition will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026. The release date was revealed during Nintendo’s September 9 Direct alongside a new Bayonetta collaboration, with four Bayonetta-inspired outfits coming to the game. The Switch 2 version will be available digitally and physically, with the physical edition containing the full game on the cartridge rather than using a Game-Key Card.

The release date is one day earlier than the November 6 date being reported in some regions, with Nintendo’s European storefront listing November 5. Regional timing differences can account for the discrepancy, but the Nintendo eShop currently identifies November 5 as the release date. Pre-orders are now opening ahead of launch.

Stellar Blade Complete Edition includes the base game alongside the additional content released since its original PlayStation 5 launch. That includes the NieR:Automata collaboration DLC and the Goddess of Victory: NIKKE content, as well as cosmetic bonuses bundled into the Complete Edition. Players also receive additional outfits and accessories for EVE, Lily and Adam, Drone cosmetics, 2,000 SP EXP and 5,000 Gold.

The newly announced Bayonetta collaboration adds another set of cosmetic content. Shift Up has shown three of four new couture outfits inspired by Bayonetta, with the final design still being kept under wraps. The costumes will also be added to the existing PlayStation 5 and PC versions for free when the Switch 2 edition launches, so the crossover is not exclusive to Nintendo’s hardware.

The physical release is another notable part of the announcement. Rather than shipping as a Game-Key Card that requires players to download most or all of the software, Stellar Blade Complete Edition is being distributed as a conventional cartridge containing the game itself. Reports from physical distributors indicate a 32GB cartridge is being used for the release, covering the Complete Edition content without requiring the base game to be downloaded separately.

That approach stands out as more Switch 2 publishers experiment with different physical distribution methods. Some releases still rely on Game-Key Cards or download codes, while others have opted for full cartridges despite the higher storage requirements. The distinction has become increasingly relevant for players who value offline access, resale and long-term ownership of physical software.

The Switch 2 port itself had already been announced earlier this year. Shift Up said in August that the version had been optimized specifically for Nintendo’s newer hardware and would include support for features such as Joy-Con 2 motion controls. The company has also targeted 60 FPS performance while adapting the game to Switch 2, although final performance can still vary depending on the mode and scene.

Stellar Blade originally launched for PlayStation 5 in April 2024 before expanding to PC in June 2025. The action RPG follows EVE, a member of the 7th Airborne Squad, as she returns to a devastated Earth and battles creatures known as Naytiba. Combat centers on parries, dodges, combos and ability timing, while exploration and side content gradually reveal more about the world and EVE’s mission.

The Switch 2 release also continues a broader wave of major third-party games arriving on Nintendo’s current system. It lands just one day after Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Encore Edition on November 5 and less than a week before Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy on November 12. The period is shaping up to be particularly busy for upgraded ports and expanded editions.

Stellar Blade Complete Edition launches for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026. The package combines the base game, previous crossover DLC, Complete Edition bonuses and the new Bayonetta outfits, while the physical release will ship with the full game on the cartridge.
