Mouthwashing will launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch on October 29, 2026. Publisher CRITICAL REFLEX and developer Wrong Organ confirmed the release date during the October 20 ID@Xbox and IGN Showcase, accompanied by a new console release trailer.
The psychological horror game originally launched on PC through Steam on September 26, 2024. Its console debut will also include an Xbox PC version through the Microsoft Store, while Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to play the game from its October 29 launch.
CRITICAL REFLEX confirmed the Xbox release and Game Pass availability in an official Xbox Wire announcement. The publisher also revealed that Mouthwashing has sold more than 800,000 copies on Steam since its original release.

Mouthwashing follows five crew members stranded aboard the damaged space freighter Tulpar after a catastrophic incident leaves them without any realistic prospect of rescue. With supplies dwindling and tensions escalating, the crew must confront their circumstances and the disturbing events that brought them there.
The first-person horror game focuses on psychological tension, environmental storytelling and an increasingly unreliable perception of reality. Players explore the deteriorating spacecraft while uncovering the crew’s history and the consequences of Captain Curly’s actions.
Mouthwashing has received several industry awards since its PC debut, including Best Narrative and Players’ Choice at the Horror Game Awards. Its arrival on consoles follows an extended wait after CRITICAL REFLEX and Wrong Organ initially announced plans for PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch versions in February 2025.
Physical editions are also planned for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch through Fangamer. The publisher has not confirmed that these physical releases will ship alongside the October 29 digital launch, so their availability remains separate from the newly announced release date.
The October 29 launch also brings Mouthwashing to Xbox Game Pass on day one, giving subscribers another psychological horror title to play during the Halloween period. Xbox One support was additionally confirmed in the publisher’s Xbox Wire announcement, expanding the release beyond the current-generation Xbox consoles.
Mouthwashing is part of a broader wave of horror releases reaching consoles, including the upcoming Dead of Darkness 2, which is also planned for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC.
With its console release date now confirmed, Mouthwashing will become available across PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch platforms on October 29, just over two years after its original PC debut.
