Devolver Digital and developer Pigeons at Play will launch Mycopunk in full on October 20, 2026 for PC and PlayStation 5. The cooperative first-person shooter will leave Steam Early Access after more than a year and make its console debut at the same time, priced at $14.99. Mycopunk will also join the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on its first day of release.

The October 20 date was announced during PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct 2026 with a new 1.0 release-date trailer. Mycopunk originally entered Steam Early Access on July 10, 2025, giving Pigeons at Play an extended period to add content, make balance changes and respond to player feedback before declaring the game complete. The studio had recently said it was focused on finishing the large 1.0 update without providing a firm date.

Mycopunk puts players in control of the New Atlas Hazard Crew, a group of unconventional robots employed by the SAXON corporation to confront a planet-wide fungal outbreak. Missions send the crew into areas overrun by hostile organisms and machinery corrupted by the spreading infestation. Players can tackle those objectives alone or form an online squad of up to four people, with the game designed around combining the different abilities and equipment of its robotic characters.

Combat is built around an extensive arsenal of futuristic weapons and power tools that can be heavily modified between missions. Upgrades are installed through a grid-based system in which their shapes and placement matter, encouraging players to fit different components together efficiently rather than simply equipping linear stat improvements. The result is a system intended to support highly specialized weapon builds and combinations between squad members.

Enemies have their own unusual behavior. Fungal creatures can be dismantled piece by piece during combat, but discarded parts can potentially be collected by other enemies and incorporated into their bodies. That makes clearing the battlefield more complicated than simply reducing an enemy’s health bar, particularly when larger groups are involved.

Between deployments, players return to an orbital dropship that functions as Mycopunk’s social and preparation space. The ship allows squads to adjust their equipment, interact with characters and spend time on smaller activities before beginning another mission. Roachard Cox, an insectoid SAXON veteran, is among the characters stationed there and serves as part of the game’s deliberately unconventional sci-fi setting.

The full launch will also expand Mycopunk beyond its current PC audience. Its arrival on PlayStation 5 follows other PC-focused releases making the jump to Sony’s console, including Moros Protocol’s October console release. Mycopunk’s inclusion in the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog from day one should also give the PS5 version immediate access to the service’s subscriber base alongside the wider PlayStation Plus Game Catalog lineup.

Pigeons at Play has continued updating the Early Access version while preparing 1.0. The game received its Freeze & Fester update in August, while developer posts in September indicated that work had shifted heavily toward completing the full release. Steam currently lists hundreds of handcrafted upgrades and four-player online co-op among the game’s core features.

Mycopunk launches in full on October 20 for PC via Steam and PlayStation 5 for $14.99. Existing PC players will receive the move from Early Access to version 1.0, while the same date marks the game’s first release on console. Its day-one PlayStation Plus Game Catalog availability gives Pigeons at Play’s debut project a broader launch as it moves beyond Early Access.
