MR. RECORDS is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in addition to its previously announced Nintendo Switch 2 and PC versions. Publisher Wired Productions and developer Glee-Cheese Studio confirmed the expanded platform lineup as the game’s free PC demo became available on Steam on September 22. A release date for the full game has not yet been announced.
The demo introduces George, an elderly record-store owner whose connection to music lets him enter surreal worlds built around individual songs. Players can explore the beginning of his story, meet customers in the shop and start building a record collection before stepping into playable musical sequences shaped by George’s memories and imagination. The demo is designed as an early sample of both sides of the game rather than focusing exclusively on its rhythm-platforming stages.
MR. RECORDS combines record-shop management with rhythm-driven platforming. During the day, George helps customers find albums, earns money and expands the store’s collection, while playing records transports him into colorful environments where movement is synchronized with the music. Those sequences involve running, jumping, sliding, dodging and chaining actions together across more than 40 handcrafted levels.

Glee-Cheese Studio says the musical stages will span a wide range of styles rather than following a single genre. Records can lead into funk, electronic, rock and other musical environments, with the visual design and gameplay changing alongside individual tracks. Some levels also introduce rhythm battles, chase sequences, environmental disruptions and other variations intended to keep the structure from becoming a repeated sequence of standard platforming challenges.
The record shop itself acts as the other major part of the game. Customers arrive with different tastes and requests, requiring George to learn more about the available music and recommend appropriate records. Progressing through the shop unlocks new stock and additional parts of George’s personal story, while a bedroom above the store serves as a quieter hub where players can review memories and track their progress.
MR. RECORDS was first revealed earlier this year by Wired Productions and Glee-Cheese Studio, with PC versions announced for Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG. A Nintendo Switch 2 version followed in August during the Future Games Show at Gamescom, accompanied by a new gameplay trailer introducing George and the game’s central record-shop loop. The newly confirmed PS5 and Xbox Series versions mean the rhythm adventure is now planned for all current major console platforms.
The Steam demo arrives shortly before the October 2026 edition of Steam Next Fest, where developers can showcase playable versions of upcoming PC games. Wired Productions had already announced that the demo would launch on September 22, describing it as players’ first opportunity to experience George’s shop and some of the musical worlds themselves. The Steam listing confirms Glee-Cheese Studio as developer and Wired Productions as publisher, with single-player and Steam Cloud support.
Glee-Cheese Studio previously developed A Musical Story and Headbangers: Rhythm Royale, both of which also centered heavily on music. MR. RECORDS continues that focus while combining rhythm gameplay with a more narrative-driven structure about memories, regret and pursuing long-delayed ambitions. The studio describes George as someone who has spent much of his life standing still before finally opening the record shop he always wanted.
MR. RECORDS is now confirmed for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC through Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG. The PC demo is available now on Steam, while Wired Productions and Glee-Cheese Studio have yet to announce a launch date for the complete game.
