A detailed Grand Theft Auto VI age-rating entry briefly published by PEGI has revealed new information about the game’s violence, drug use and sexual content before being removed from the ratings board’s website. According to a copy of the listing reported by VGC, GTA 6 includes highly realistic violence and dismemberment, frequent drug use that players can participate in, and scenes involving nudity and sexual activity. The broad content categories are independently supported by Australia’s official Classification Board, which has rated the game R18+ for “High impact violence, sex scenes and drug use.”
The now-unavailable PEGI description reportedly characterized GTA 6’s violence as bloody and highly realistic, with some weapons capable of causing detailed decapitation and dismemberment. Because of the game’s open-world structure, players can reportedly attack civilians, criminals and law-enforcement characters. The description went substantially further than the standard content descriptors that typically accompany an age rating, offering an unusually specific look at how Rockstar is implementing some of the series’ mature material.
Drug use was another area described in detail. VGC reports that the PEGI entry called drug use “frequent and prominent” and said players can participate in drug use with other characters, as well as consume illegal substances directly from their inventory. Most notably, the rating reportedly states that cocaine can be carried by the player and snorted directly from their hand at any time. Australia’s government classification record does not provide that level of detail, but its official R18+ classification independently identifies drug use as one of GTA 6’s high-impact content categories.

The removed listing also reportedly described strong sexual themes, including nudity, intercourse and occasional depictions of sexual fetishes. Nightclubs are said to allow players to purchase private dances, with some degree of physical interaction during those sequences. These details provide more context than the broader “Strong Sexual Content” and nudity warnings appearing alongside GTA 6’s mature ratings in other regions, although they should be treated specifically as information reproduced from the withdrawn PEGI description rather than a direct gameplay announcement from Rockstar.
PEGI’s reported description also addressed animals in GTA 6’s open world. Domestic animals can apparently be harmed by the player, although the rating said they do not exhibit the same level of injury detail as human characters. Rockstar has already shown the wildlife and environmental variety of Leonida in official material, while new GTA 6 screenshots and Leonida details have provided a broader look at the game’s Florida-inspired setting.
The reason PEGI removed the detailed entry is currently unclear. Its disappearance does not undermine the existence of GTA 6’s mature-content classifications elsewhere: Australia’s Classification Board lists an R18+ decision dated August 27, 2026, while US storefront information uses an M for Mature rating with descriptors including Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Nudity, Strong Sexual Content, and Use of Drugs and Alcohol. What remains unconfirmed is whether every detail contained in the withdrawn PEGI write-up will appear unchanged in the final release.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar describes it as a single-player experience centered on Jason and Lucia in the state of Leonida, with Vice City returning as a major location. The company recently provided its most substantial official presentation of the game through an extended gameplay-focused showcase, alongside additional details about the world and its systems, including GTA 6's Florida-inspired weather systems. The removed PEGI entry now offers one of the clearest indications yet of how far Rockstar’s mature-content systems may extend when the game arrives next month.
