Edia has announced Psikyo Memories, a new collection of classic shoot ’em ups from Japanese developer Psikyo, for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. The collection is scheduled to launch worldwide in 2027, with Edia unveiling the confirmed platforms through its game catalog distributed at Tokyo Game Show 2026. Strikers 1945 is also playable at the company’s booth during the event, providing an early look at one of the games represented by the project.

Edia describes Psikyo Memories as a collection preserving the fast-paced shooting action that helped define Psikyo’s output during the 1990s arcade era. The company says the package will contain a selection of classic titles, although it has not yet published a complete game list. Strikers 1945 is the only specific title currently confirmed through the playable Tokyo Game Show demonstration, so it remains unclear which other Psikyo shooters will ultimately be included.

That leaves several important details still unresolved. Edia has not announced pricing, a specific release date or additional features such as online multiplayer, leaderboards, display filters, save states or rewind functionality. Despite a PC build of Strikers 1945 being used for the Tokyo Game Show demo, PC is not currently listed as a release platform for Psikyo Memories, with only PS5 and Switch 2 formally announced.

Psikyo built a strong reputation during the 1990s through arcade shooters known for fast enemy fire, compact stage structures and distinctive scoring systems. Strikers 1945 became one of the studio’s most recognizable releases, combining World War II-inspired aircraft with transforming mechanical bosses and increasingly demanding bullet patterns. Psikyo’s broader catalog also spans series such as Gunbird and Sengoku Ace, though Edia has not confirmed whether those franchises are part of Psikyo Memories.

The collection is another part of Edia’s growing focus on bringing older Japanese games to current hardware. At Tokyo Game Show 2026, the company is also presenting Toshinden Collection, which packages the first three Battle Arena Toshinden games for modern systems, and Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes I & II, a revival of the PC Engine versions of Falcom’s early RPGs. Together, the projects show Edia expanding beyond its own historical catalog and working with additional legacy properties.

Psikyo Memories is particularly notable because many of the developer’s games have already appeared across numerous arcade compilations, individual ports and previous console collections. Edia’s project therefore has the opportunity to distinguish itself through the breadth of its lineup and any additional archival or quality-of-life features it chooses to include. For now, however, the publisher is keeping those details limited and has not explained how the new release will differ from earlier Psikyo collections.

The announcement also arrives during a broader wave of retro compilations targeting current consoles. Collections such as Metal Slug Ultimate Collection are similarly packaging older arcade titles with modern hardware support, reflecting continued demand for convenient access to games that were previously spread across multiple systems and regional releases. Psikyo Memories fits naturally into that trend, especially given the developer’s long association with arcade-style shoot ’em ups.

Tokyo Game Show attendees can currently play Strikers 1945 at Edia’s booth, but the company has not said whether additional Psikyo Memories titles will become playable during the event. The show runs through September 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, giving Edia an opportunity to reveal more about the collection before the event ends.

Psikyo Memories will launch worldwide in 2027 for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. The complete game lineup, release date, pricing and feature set remain unannounced, with further details expected as Edia continues development.
