Arknights: Endfield will launch on Steam on October 15 alongside its next major content update, Sanctuary of Ink. Publisher GRYPHLINE confirmed the Steam rollout as part of the new version announcement, giving PC players another way to access the free-to-play RPG. Existing players will also be able to carry their progress across platforms rather than starting over on Valve’s storefront.
The Steam release follows a limited-access playtest that began in September and connected directly to Endfield’s live servers. GRYPHLINE said account data and progression were synchronized across supported platforms during that test, and the full Steam version will continue supporting cross-platform progression. Endfield is already available on PC through its own launcher and Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation 5, iOS and Android.
Sanctuary of Ink launches on the same day and serves as a substantial expansion rather than a small accompanying patch. The update takes players into Si’s Painting, a living landscape scroll where broken routes can be restored using brushstrokes. Its main story revolves around a search for healing that also connects to the Endministrator’s past, giving the new area a direct role in the game’s continuing narrative.

Two new playable Operators are also being introduced through separate recruitment periods. Si uses a Miracle Brush and ink-themed abilities, including mechanics built around her Inksoul, while Argent Flow fights with a sword and spear alongside his warhorse, Nuli. Their combat styles are deliberately different, with Si emphasizing unusual effect manipulation and Argent Flow leaning into mounted attacks and direct offensive movement.
The update also expands Endfield’s challenge content. Contingency Contract returns through Indigo Experimental Operation, allowing players to modify encounters with advantages and restrictions before taking on increasingly difficult battles. GRYPHLINE is also adding Yuanyuan’s Blazing Stoves, a countryside inn activity that includes farming, raising animals, cooking and gradually expanding the property.
Several quality-of-life improvements are arriving at the same time. Players will gain loadout-saving options, more precise mouse targeting on PC and adjustable priority settings for combo skills that become available simultaneously. Field equipment placement is also being streamlined so materials stored in the depot can be used more directly when deploying equipment during exploration and construction.
Launching on Steam gives Endfield access to one of the largest PC gaming storefronts more than eight months after its original January 22 release. GRYPHLINE began a Steam wishlist campaign in August, offering in-game rewards as milestones were reached, before following it with September’s live-server playtest. That staged rollout suggests the publisher has been preparing the storefront expansion for some time rather than treating it as a simple additional launcher.
The timing should also make the Steam release more attractive to returning players because it arrives alongside a significant new content drop. Instead of joining during the middle of an existing version cycle, new Steam users will enter as Sanctuary of Ink opens a fresh story chapter, adds Operators and introduces new activities. Cross-platform progression means established players who prefer Steam can move over without sacrificing their existing account progress.
Arknights: Endfield is a 3D real-time strategy RPG set on Talos-II and developed by Mountain Contour under GRYPHLINE. It combines squad-based combat with exploration and extensive industrial systems, including the Automated Industry Complex used to construct production networks across explored regions. The game shares its universe with Arknights while using a different structure and gameplay system.
With the October 15 release, Steam becomes the latest major platform in Endfield’s expanding ecosystem. Sanctuary of Ink gives that launch considerably more weight than a storefront-only release, adding new story content, Operators, combat challenges and management activities at the same time. Players already invested in Talos-II will be able to continue their existing progression, while new PC players gain another entry point through Steam.
