Brazilian hardware distributor Oderço has reported that two pallets of Zotac GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards, valued at approximately $470,000, have disappeared after reportedly arriving at São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport. The company says it has repeatedly requested information about the shipment but has received no explanation of its whereabouts.
Oderço Matos, president of the Maringá-based distributor, publicly disclosed the incident in a video posted to the company’s Instagram account on October 16, 2026. According to Matos, the missing shipment was worth approximately R$2.5 million ($470,000) at acquisition cost, rather than its potential retail value.
Matos explained that Oderço has operated for more than 38 years and has imported hardware since 2008. He said the company had never previously experienced the disappearance of an imported shipment.

The executive claims that both pallets reached the airport but could not be located afterward. He also questioned the apparent absence of security camera footage documenting what happened to the shipment.
According to Matos, repeated attempts to obtain information about the missing graphics cards have been unsuccessful. The company decided to publicize the incident after failing to establish where its products had gone.
The circumstances surrounding the disappearance remain unclear. Oderço has not disclosed the exact date the shipment arrived at Guarulhos, the number of graphics cards contained in the two pallets, or the specific Zotac RTX 5090 models involved.
Brazilian reporting indicates that the airport operator, GRU Airport, had not provided a public explanation as of October 17. Brazil’s Federal Revenue Service and Federal Police had also not publicly clarified the circumstances. Neither Nvidia nor Zotac had issued a public statement addressing the shipment.
Importantly, the distributor’s account establishes an allegation of missing cargo, not a confirmed theft. There has been no official determination that the graphics cards were stolen, and responsibility for their disappearance has not been established.
The shipment’s estimated value reflects the unusually high cost of Nvidia’s flagship gaming GPU. The GeForce RTX 5090 launched in January 2025 with 32GB of GDDR7 memory and a suggested US retail price starting at $1,999. Brazilian retail listings for Zotac RTX 5090 models have recently ranged from approximately R$34,000 to R$39,000, considerably higher than their original suggested pricing.
The incident also comes amid growing concerns about RTX 5090 availability and rising retail prices, with stock becoming increasingly difficult to find in several markets.
Despite speculation that production of its flagship Blackwell gaming GPU might be ending, Nvidia has maintained that the RTX 5090 has not been discontinued, while acknowledging supply constraints.
However, Oderço’s missing shipment is a separate logistics incident. There is currently no evidence connecting the disappearance to Nvidia’s manufacturing decisions or wider GPU supply shortages.
For now, the distributor is seeking an explanation for the missing hardware, with the exact number of affected RTX 5090 cards, their location, and the circumstances of their disappearance still unknown.
