CD Projekt RED has detailed Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.5, a free update introducing dual-wielded weapons, cross-platform mod support, new quests, cyberware customization and graphics improvements. Officially titled the Edgerunners 2 Update, the patch launches October 22, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Nintendo Switch 2 receiving it in the following days.
The developer published the patch notes on October 21 alongside a features overview and a REDstreams presentation. Developed with support from co-development partner Virtuos, version 2.5 introduces content inspired by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, which premiered on Netflix on October 20, alongside substantial gameplay and technical changes.
One of the main additions is dual wielding. The new Double Trouble perk, located in the Cool skill tree, allows players to equip two Power-category Pistols or Revolvers simultaneously. Four additional perks support the new combat style, expanding the available options for pistol-focused character builds.

Update 2.5 also introduces cross-platform mod support powered by mod.io. Players can browse and install a curated selection of community-created modifications directly through the game’s interface without manually managing mod files. The feature supports Windows PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, with additional compatible mods planned over time.
There is an important restriction for console players: achievements and trophies cannot be earned while playing with a modded save file. The Load Game menu now identifies modified saves with a dedicated icon, helping players distinguish them from unmodified playthroughs.
The update’s Edgerunners 2 content includes a new side quest called Clampdown, set before the events of the anime’s second installment. Players can unlock it by completing The Heist and two gigs for Wakako, then waiting for her to make contact. Completing the quest provides access to a five-piece equipment set inspired by the character King.
A new radio station, HKGN 102.0 FM, also arrives with music from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series.
Beyond the anime crossover, another side quest titled Welcome to Paradise takes players on a guided exploration of Night City, narrated by Richard Night. It becomes available after completing The Heist and reaching Street Cred level 15.
Players can also discover 12 additional Minor Arcana Tarot Cards scattered throughout Night City. Scanning one activates an extension of the Fool on the Hill quest, while collecting the complete set unlocks a special reward.
Character customization receives several additions. Five Glamdoc locations allow players to change the appearance and colors of arm cyberware, including Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire and the Projectile Launch System. Each location features its own shop environment, introductory sequence and selection of cosmetic options.
New clothing collections include Maxiwear, Jinguji, NetWatch and IconAmerica outfits, alongside the NUS Infiltrator set. Additional hairstyles previously restricted to non-playable characters are now available for V, although some remain tied to specific body types.
Photo Mode gains Cyberpunk Trading Card Game-inspired frames and new poses designed around dual-wielded weapons. Four additional TWINTONE vehicle skins for the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech are available through Twitch Drops.
The patch also introduces an adjustable field-of-view slider on consoles, giving players greater control over their perspective. Other interface improvements include grouping saved games by playthrough and adding item filters to apartment and vehicle storage.
On the technical side, Cyberpunk 2077 gains NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 support, including up to 6X Multi Frame Generation, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and the second-generation Transformer model. These features expand the game’s graphics options on compatible hardware.
AMD users receive updated FidelityFX Super Resolution options, with FSR 2.1, FSR 4 and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation remaining available. FSR 3 upscaling has been removed, while a new settings toggle enables FSR Anti-Lag 2.
The update also adds glasses-free 3D support for compatible Samsung Odyssey 3D monitors, including a Motion Comfort setting that adjusts the balance between depth and viewing comfort. Mac users gain MetalFX Frame Interpolation support.
CD Projekt RED has implemented further performance optimizations, including improvements targeting ray tracing and PlayStation 5 Pro. HDR rendering has also been revised to improve color accuracy, brightness and contrast on supported displays.
Several platform-specific issues have been addressed. On Nintendo Switch 2, a bug that incorrectly produced an insufficient-storage error when saving has been fixed. PlayStation 5 receives a correction for HDR settings that previously failed to apply changes.
Other fixes address a progression-blocking Delamain vehicle issue, Film Grain settings, unintended character movements while scanning enemies and missing third-person camera controller options.
The release also follows the addition of Xbox Play Anywhere support for Cyberpunk 2077, which extends eligible digital purchases across Xbox consoles and Windows PCs.
Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.5 will be available on October 22 for Windows PC, supported Mac storefront versions, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store version will receive the update shortly afterward, although CD Projekt RED has not announced exact dates for those releases.
The update will not be released for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
