Drattzy Games has announced that its retro-inspired turn-based JRPG Alterium Shift will receive its full PC release in February 2027, ending more than three and a half years in Steam Early Access. The game will be available through Steam and itch.io, with Steam Deck support confirmed. Home console versions are also in development and will arrive after the PC launch, although specific platforms and release dates have not been announced.
The announcement, made on October 30, establishes a release window for the RPG following an extended development period. Alterium Shift originally entered Steam Early Access on July 5, 2023, allowing players to experience its branching storylines and classic JRPG-inspired combat while the developers continued expanding and refining the game.
Drattzy Games confirmed that community feedback has influenced development throughout Early Access. The studio is continuing to polish the experience ahead of the full release, with further development updates and behind-the-scenes information planned over the coming months.

Alterium Shift combines 2.5D environments with pixel-art visuals inspired by classic Japanese role-playing games from the 1990s. Players explore the fantasy world of Alteria through three protagonists: Pyra, Atlas and Sage. Each character follows a distinct narrative path, with individual abilities and decisions affecting how their adventure unfolds.
Pyra specializes in spear-based combat and can break through certain environmental obstacles, while Atlas uses a bow to attack distant targets and access otherwise unreachable areas. Sage focuses on magic and elemental abilities. These differences extend beyond combat, giving each protagonist distinct exploration opportunities and story experiences.
The game’s combat system follows a traditional turn-based structure, displaying the order in which characters and enemies will act. Players can exploit enemy weaknesses, develop their characters and build a Burst Bar to activate more powerful abilities. Outside battles, Alterium Shift features quests, hidden treasures, fishing and other activities across its interconnected world.
Development has continued through regular Early Access revisions. An update released in September 2026 introduced redesigned menus, refreshed character artwork, improvements to fishing and racing, and adjustments to saving, progression and controls. A subsequent October patch addressed additional interface, gameplay and visual issues.
The February 2027 release will bring Alterium Shift into its full-launch phase as other independent PC games also prepare for major milestones. The upcoming Emberville Early Access launch in January 2027 represents another scheduled PC RPG release, although Alterium Shift is moving in the opposite direction by completing its Early Access development.
Steam Deck support is part of the confirmed PC release plans, but the announcement does not establish an official Steam Deck Verified rating. That distinction matters because games such as Queen's Domain have received Steam Deck verification, a separate compatibility designation issued through Valve’s review process.
Alterium Shift remains available in Steam Early Access ahead of its February 2027 release. Drattzy Games has not announced a specific launch day within that month or identified which home consoles will receive the game afterward.
