After a brief silence from Capcom’s iconic Resident Evil series, fresh rumors suggest the franchise may be revving up for another consistent run—this time across three consecutive years starting in 2026.
While Resident Evil fans have had to go without a new release since 2023’s Resident Evil 4 Remake, the wait might soon pay off with a series of new titles already rumored to be on the way.
According to trusted leaker AestheticGamer, Capcom is reportedly planning to bring the franchise back into the spotlight with Resident Evil 9 targeting a 2026 release. That would then be followed by a remake of Resident Evil Zero in 2027 and a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica in 2028.
If accurate, this roadmap would mirror Capcom’s earlier streak from 2019 to 2023, when it delivered a new Resident Evil entry every year—starting with the acclaimed Resident Evil 2 Remake and culminating in Resident Evil 4 Remake.
The potential release lineup looks like this:
- Resident Evil 9 – 2026
- Resident Evil Zero Remake – 2027
- Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake – 2028
