Shift Up, developer of Stellar Blade, has stirred fresh excitement by posting a cryptic teaser that suggests a new DLC reveal is imminent, likely at Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2025.

The teaser—shared via the game’s official X(formerly Twitter) Account—features a grim corridor drenched in red light, exposed pipes, damaged wooden boards, frayed wiring, and a brooding atmosphere. Accompanying the image is the caption “In one week…,” clearly marking something significant on the horizon.

Stellar Blade first launched as a PlayStation 5 exclusive in April 2024, later debuting on PC in June 2025. It has since become one of Sony’s most successful third-party single-player ports. The game has already seen crossover DLCs, including content tied to NieR: Automata and Goddess of Victory: Nikke.

With those under its belt, the community is naturally speculating: is this next tease signaling a horror-themed expansion, or even a crossover with a horror franchise?

The imagery of the teaser heavily leans toward horror. The color palette, the dilapidated aesthetic, and the general vibe are more Silent Hill or Resident Evil than the usual Stellar Blade setting.

Some fans believe a crossover with Silent Hill f may be plausible, especially given the red lighting and horror trappings in the image. Others argue a collaboration with Resident Evil is possible, given Shift Up’s recent ties via the Nikke crossover.

Tokyo Game Show 2025, running from September 25-28, is already being seen as the likely stage for the announcement. If the teaser’s “one week” note is literal, that would place the reveal around September 26, right in the middle of TGS. No official confirmation of what kind of DLC or event this will be has been given—only that something is coming.

Shift Up has already confirmed a sequel to Stellar Blade is in development, expected in a later timeframe, but that has not stopped the developer from supporting the original with content. Given that, fans are hopeful this teaser represents something substantial rather than a small cosmetic drop.

The darker tone of the artwork suggests more than just lip service—it could be a story expansion, horror event, crossover mission, or something designed to contrast with the core game’s spectacle.

All told, the tease works: it’s rare to see Stellar Blade drift so far into horror imagery, which signals that whatever Shift Up is preparing, they’re aiming to surprise. If nothing else, anticipation is real—and TGS 2025 may well deliver one of Stellar Blade’s most intriguing announcements yet.
