Analogue has announced the Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+, updated versions of its FPGA-based consoles designed to play original Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis cartridges on modern displays. Both systems cost $219.99, with preorders opening October 19, 2026, at 8 a.m. Pacific Time and shipping scheduled for December 2026.
The new models succeed Analogue’s discontinued Super Nt and Mega Sg consoles, retaining their original cartridge compatibility while introducing built-in Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless controller support, USB-C power, USB-A connectivity and redesigned hardware. Both continue to deliver HDMI output at up to 1080p rather than adopting 4K resolution.
The Super Nt+ supports more than 2,200 Super Nintendo and Super Famicom titles, while the Mega Sg+ supports Sega Genesis and Mega Drive cartridges alongside several older Sega systems. Both use an Altera Cyclone V FPGA to reproduce the original console hardware rather than relying on conventional software emulation.

One of the most significant additions is integrated wireless controller connectivity. The original consoles required separate accessories for wireless controllers, but the new versions include native Bluetooth and 2.4GHz support with a dedicated pairing button.
Analogue says users can connect compatible 8BitDo controllers, arcade sticks and modern gamepads. Original-style wired controllers remain supported, and connecting a wired controller automatically replaces an assigned wireless controller. Players can also turn the consoles on or off through the first controller port.
Both systems now use USB-C for power, with a compatible 30W power supply and cable included. A USB-A port has also been added, although its functionality is limited to Analogue DAC connectivity and controller charging. It cannot be used to connect wired USB controllers directly or transfer data.
Another new feature is cartridge hot-swapping. Players can exit their current game through the system menu and replace the cartridge without switching off the console. The updated operating systems also retain display adjustments, scanline filters, aspect ratio controls and region-free operation.
Despite the hardware revisions, Analogue has kept the maximum output resolution at 1080p. The consoles support 480p, 720p and 1080p over HDMI for NTSC games, alongside corresponding PAL output modes. An Analogue DAC can also be used to connect the systems to compatible CRT displays.
Neither console includes save states, overclocking, screenshots or the advanced 4K display modes available on Analogue’s newer Analogue 3D hardware. The company also confirms that neither system supports openFPGA or playing copyrighted ROM files directly. Both are designed primarily for original physical cartridges.
The Mega Sg+ offers broader compatibility through additional Sega hardware support. A Master System cartridge adapter comes in the box, while separately available adapters enable compatibility with Game Gear, Sega My Card, Mark III and SG-1000/SC-3000 software. Owners can also connect original Sega CD or Mega CD hardware using the console’s dedicated expansion connector.
Analogue is offering the Super Nt+ in Classic, SF and Black finishes. The Mega Sg+ comes in USA, EU and JP variants, reflecting different regional designs.
Neither console includes a controller. Analogue lists the 8BitDo SN30 for Super Nt+ and the 8BitDo M30 for Mega Sg+ as separately sold accessories priced at $29.99 each. Unlike their predecessors, the updated systems also omit the previously included games Super Turrican Director’s Cut and Ultracore, respectively.
The original Super Nt and Mega Sg received their final production runs in 2023, with preorders previously priced at $199. The new $219.99 models therefore cost $20 more while adding built-in wireless support and updated connectivity.
With preorders beginning October 19 and shipments expected in December, the Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ provide another option for collectors who want to continue using original Nintendo and Sega cartridges on modern televisions without relying on software emulation.
