Epic Games has confirmed the Five Nights at Freddy’s crossover coming to Fortnite, with a new trailer revealing four classic animatronics and additional cosmetics. The collaboration is scheduled to launch on October 1 alongside Fortnitemares 2026, ending months of leaks and speculation around the horror franchise’s arrival in Battle Royale.
The trailer features Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy, matching the original quartet from the first Five Nights at Freddy’s game. It also shows several related cosmetics, including Chica’s Cupcake and animatronic-themed Back Blings. HYPEX’s latest report adds that Withered styles, Freddy Kicks, additional Back Blings, instrument cosmetics and emotes are part of the broader reveal, although not every item has been individually detailed by Epic.
The crossover will also bring a Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza location to the Fortnite island as part of Fortnitemares. The location appears prominently in the new footage, with the familiar animatronic characters appearing around the restaurant and horror-themed environment. Earlier Fortnite teasers had already drawn attention to a pizzeria-style structure and security-camera imagery, but the new trailer establishes the connection to Five Nights at Freddy’s.
The trailer also contains footage that appears to show animatronics attacking players, while another sequence has prompted speculation that players could control or transform into the characters. That gameplay element has not been formally described as a separate Fortnite mode by Epic, so it is too early to treat the footage as confirmation of a dedicated FNAF survival mode. The confirmed material instead centers on the crossover, its characters, the pizzeria location and the cosmetics shown in the trailer.
The timing puts the collaboration directly into Fortnite’s annual Halloween event. Fortnitemares 2026 begins October 1, and the FNAF crossover will arrive as part of that update rather than as a standalone release. The event has already been teased by Epic with its “The Game Is Cursed” messaging, while FNAF-related clues had circulated through Fortnite map discoveries, datamines and separate Five Nights at Freddy’s teasers before the official trailer appeared.
The four-character lineup also gives Fortnite players versions of the franchise’s most recognizable original animatronics. Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy all originated in the 2014 Five Nights at Freddy’s game and have remained central figures throughout the series. Their inclusion makes the collaboration distinct from earlier rumors that focused on individual characters or possible cosmetics without an official reveal.
Epic has not yet provided a complete breakdown of every cosmetic, including pricing, bundle contents or the precise availability of the reported Withered styles. The company also has not fully explained how the apparent animatronic gameplay sequences in the trailer will function in Battle Royale. Those details are likely to become clearer as Fortnitemares approaches and the October 1 update goes live.
For now, the important change is that FNAF is no longer merely a Fortnite rumor. Epic’s trailer confirms the crossover, the four original animatronics and the Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza setting, while additional cosmetics and gameplay details reported by Fortnite leakers remain subject to further clarification.
