A newly datamined Fortnite questline appears to reveal the next major piece of Chapter 7 Season 4’s story, with Bastian investigating a magical way to counter Geno and eventually sending players after a Crystalkeeper dragon. Dataminer FireMonkey published a 10-step quest chain extracted from the game files, while separate Fortnite tracking accounts have also indicated that new Bastian Story Quests are scheduled to arrive this week. Epic Games has not publicly detailed the full chain, so the quest objectives and unreleased encounters should still be treated as datamined content until they appear in-game.
The chain begins with players speaking to Bastian about using magic against Geno’s threat. From there, much of the questline revolves around collecting crystals from different sources across the island, including one dropped by an eliminated player, another being analyzed at Shaken Sanctuary and crystals tied to destroyed vehicles, defeated bosses or henchmen, and the giant red tree at Golden Grove. The repeated collection objectives appear to build toward Bastian assembling enough magical material to learn more about Geno.
That places the new quests directly alongside the larger Geno storyline uncovered in Fortnite’s recent files, which already pointed to memories, Override technology, Sprites, The Order and an eventual confrontation. Bastian’s role appears to approach the same conflict from a different angle, with magic and crystals becoming the focus rather than machinery. Epic’s current Battle Pass materials officially identify both Bastian and Geno as major Chapter 7 Season 4 characters, although the company has not confirmed how their individual story arcs will connect.

The most notable portion of the leaked questline brings Geralt of Rivia back into the story. One objective reportedly instructs players to ask Geralt for help obtaining the Crystalkeeper dragon’s crystal, followed by a step requiring players to “focus” in order to reveal the creature. Players would then need to defeat the Crystalkeeper dragon and collect its crystal during the same match.
Geralt’s involvement is particularly unusual because he originally entered Fortnite through the Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass in 2023. Epic has not announced a new Witcher collaboration for the current season, and the datamined objective does not establish whether Geralt will return as a full NPC, appear through a quest-specific interaction or be represented in some other form. His role therefore remains one of the biggest unanswered details in the leak.
The Crystalkeeper dragon also appears to be a substantial encounter rather than a background reference. FireMonkey’s leaked wording specifically identifies it as something players must reveal and defeat, suggesting a dedicated boss or quest encounter tied directly to Bastian’s storyline. No official image, health value, location or combat mechanics for the creature have been published by Epic.
After defeating the dragon, the final step reportedly has players return their crystal collection to Bastian so he can uncover the secret to defeating Geno. That makes the chain more narratively consequential than a routine weekly quest set, because it appears to directly advance the season’s central conflict. The wording also suggests the Bastian storyline could feed into later Geno quests rather than resolving the threat on its own.
The leak additionally includes the cheat code “MagicIsReal.” Chapter 7 Season 4 already uses hidden cheat codes as part of its Override systems, with Epic officially describing codes scattered around the island that can free Sprite allies and interact with the season’s broader loot-hacking mechanics. Other recently uncovered codes have been tied to Geno Story rewards and Sprite Dust, so another story-linked code would fit the season’s existing structure.
Unlike some Battle Pass questlines, FireMonkey says this Bastian chain does not currently appear to reward an additional Outfit variant. Instead, the datamined rewards are described as Sprite Gadgets. Exact quantities and progression requirements were not included in the circulated quest list.
Separate Fortnite community tracking has indicated that Bastian-focused Story Quests are due before another set involving Wrixel and Geno in early October. That timing supports the idea that Bastian’s crystal hunt is intended to bridge the current chapter of the narrative into the next Geno-focused phase, although Epic can still change unreleased quests before deployment.
For now, the strongest evidence comes from the datamined quest text rather than an official Epic Games announcement. If the files reach the live game unchanged, players will be sent through a 10-part Bastian storyline involving crystal collection, Geralt of Rivia, a Crystalkeeper dragon encounter and a final discovery intended to help counter Geno.
