Fortnite OG Season X Discovery Banner Leaks Ahead of Launch

A new Fortnite Discovery banner referencing OG Season X has appeared in the game’s files ahead of the season’s official rollout. Dataminer FireMonkey found text reading “OG Season X Live Now” and “New OG Season Is Now Live,” providing another concrete indication that Epic Games is preparing the next phase of Fortnite OG for release.

The banner itself is not yet publicly active in Fortnite, so its wording should be treated as pre-release material rather than confirmation that Season X has already launched. Epic has, however, separately started teasing OG Season X through its official Fortnite channels. The company says it is “almost time” for the season and has specifically highlighted the return of the B.R.U.T.E. mech and Automatic Sniper Rifle.

That official teaser significantly strengthens the datamine. Rather than pointing toward an unknown or speculative future season, the leaked banner lines up directly with content Epic is already preparing to promote publicly. The wording also suggests the asset is intended to appear in Fortnite’s Discovery interface once the season actually goes live.

OG Season X will recreate content from Fortnite Chapter 1 Season X, which originally launched in 2019. The original season introduced the B.R.U.T.E., a two-person mech that could be controlled solo or by a pair of players, alongside Rift Zones that altered returning locations around the map. Epic’s latest teaser confirms at least some of that gameplay is coming back through the current Fortnite OG format.

The B.R.U.T.E. is particularly notable because it became one of the most controversial vehicles in Fortnite’s history. Its high health, mobility and weapon loadout led to extensive balance discussions during the original Season X, with Epic making multiple adjustments during the season. Its confirmed return means the OG version will revisit one of the most recognizable parts of that period rather than limiting itself to map nostalgia.

Epic is also teasing the Automatic Sniper Rifle, another weapon associated with Chapter 1 Season X. The original version offered faster follow-up shots than traditional Fortnite sniper rifles, trading some single-shot power for a semi-automatic firing style. Epic has not yet published a full OG Season X loot pool, so additional returning weapons and items remain unconfirmed.

Fortnite OG follows an ongoing seasonal structure that moves through versions of the original Chapter 1 experience. Epic says each OG season lasts approximately two months and brings back classic loot, locations and gameplay systems, with a separate OG Pass offering retro-inspired rewards. The current Season 9 period is therefore expected to transition naturally into Season X rather than Season X becoming a separate limited-time mode.

Other pre-release material is also beginning to surface around the transition. Dataminers have shared promotional imagery connected to the upcoming OG Pass and its cosmetics, although Epic has not yet formally revealed the complete reward lineup. Those assets support the broader indication that the Season X rollout is close, but individual cosmetics should remain treated as leaked until Epic publishes them itself.

The leaked Discovery banner is ultimately a marketing asset rather than a gameplay leak, but its significance comes from timing and wording. It shows that Epic has already prepared in-game promotional material for the moment OG Season X becomes available, while the company’s official teaser confirms the underlying season and several returning items.

Epic has not yet published full OG Season X patch notes or a complete content breakdown. Until that happens, features beyond those explicitly teased should remain unconfirmed. The latest datamine nevertheless shows that the launch infrastructure is already being prepared, with Fortnite’s Discovery interface set to promote OG Season X once the new season goes live.
