Fortnite’s previously encrypted Sprite Mastery Outfit has now been decrypted, revealing Pixel Polli as the reward for mastering 28 Sprites. Dataminer FireMonkey shared the newly accessible cosmetic from Fortnite’s files on September 17, identifying it as Pixel Polli and linking it to the Radicali cosmetic data uncovered earlier. Epic Games has not yet published a full official breakdown of the 28-Sprite reward, so the unlock requirement should still be treated as a datamined discovery until it appears publicly in-game.
The reveal fills in the largest remaining gap in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4’s expanded Sprite Mastery progression. Earlier v42.20 data showed an encrypted Outfit waiting at the 28-Sprite milestone, with the associated files eventually pointing toward Radicali while its actual model remained hidden. With the cosmetic now decrypted, players can see what the end-of-track reward is intended to be rather than relying on an encrypted name or placeholder.
Unlike most Fortnite Outfits, Pixel Polli is reportedly tied directly to gameplay progression rather than an Item Shop purchase. Players will need to master 28 Sprites to earn the skin if the current requirement remains unchanged. That makes the Outfit one of the clearest incentives Epic has attached to Sprite collecting, rewarding players for engaging extensively with the system instead of simply accumulating cosmetic currency or completing a short quest chain.

Sprite mastery requires more than discovering a Sprite once. Epic’s system tracks Sprites that players have leveled and successfully mastered, with mastered creatures remaining permanently marked in the player’s collection even if their level later resets during gameplay. Epic has also confirmed that mastery is used to unlock dedicated rewards and allows mastered Sprites to appear through the Sprite Mastery Pod cosmetic.
The progression system was expanded during Override after Epic introduced a dedicated Sprite Mastery reward track in v42.10. Epic said at the time that additional rewards would be added with later updates and specifically teased an arcade-themed Back Bling for v42.20. Duplicate Sprite extractions also began contributing experience toward an existing Sprite, while mastering one reduces the Sprite Dust cost required to resummon it.
Those changes have gradually turned Sprites from temporary match utilities into a broader collection system with persistent progression. Chapter 7 Season 4 introduced a new generation of Sprites and the Sprite Garden, where collected creatures can be displayed outside Battle Royale matches. The season has also continued expanding the roster through collaborations and variants, with datamined crossover Sprites tied to Cyberpunk, Pac-Man, Persona 5, Crash Bandicoot and The Witcher appearing in Fortnite’s files.
That growing pool matters for the Pixel Polli requirement because reaching 28 mastered Sprites involves substantially more work than simply collecting 28 different creatures. Players need to progress individual Sprites far enough to satisfy the mastery conditions, making the Outfit a longer-term collection reward. Epic has supported that grind with events such as Mastery Mondays, which increase the appearance rate of rarer Sprites, accelerate leveling and provide additional Sprite Dust.
Pixel Polli also appears to resolve earlier uncertainty around the identity of the encrypted mastery reward. Datamining initially surfaced references including “Retro Blade” before later findings tied the reward to Radicali. The latest decrypted files provide the actual visible cosmetic and the Pixel Polli name, making the 28-Sprite milestone considerably clearer than it was when v42.20 first became available.
Because this information comes from Fortnite’s game files rather than an Epic Games announcement, details can still change before the reward is formally presented to players. Epic can alter unlock requirements, names or associated cosmetics through hotfixes and future updates. There is currently no indication that Pixel Polli will also be sold separately through the Item Shop.
If the present data remains intact, mastering 28 Sprites will unlock Pixel Polli and give Chapter 7 Season 4’s mastery system a full Outfit as its major progression reward. The decrypted cosmetic turns what had previously been an encrypted end-point into a concrete target for players working through Fortnite Override’s expanding Sprite collection.
