Marvel’s Wolverine Trailer Details Rage, Suits and New Game Plus

Insomniac Games has released a new Marvel’s Wolverine features trailer detailing Logan’s Rage system, dozens of character upgrades, equippable combat techniques, collectible-driven memories, craftable suits and several post-game features.

The official breakdown arrives ahead of the game’s September 15 launch on PlayStation 5 and provides one of the clearest explanations yet of how players will customize Wolverine during the campaign.

Combat is built around maintaining aggressive momentum, with Logan using his claws, kicks, critical strikes and unlockable Techniques at close range.

Players can equip four rechargeable Special Techniques at once. Insomniac highlighted moves including Tornado Spin, Knee Breaker and Spiral Strike, allowing different abilities to be worked directly into normal combat.

A separate Adaptations system provides more passive customization.

Insomniac says there are dozens of Adaptations that can alter Logan’s performance, including upgrades that let him absorb more gunfire, increase the effectiveness of Rage, widen parry windows or intimidate enemies during fights.

Rage itself uses a three-tier system focused progressively on survivability, resilience and offensive power.

Logan can use the system to survive when heavily injured or push into more aggressive states as fights escalate. Insomniac previously showed the highest Rage tier transforming combat into a stylized burst of violence inspired by Marvel’s Black, White & Blood comics.

The trailer also expands on what players can find away from the main story.

Wolverine’s Enhanced Senses can be used to locate Nightmare Doors, which lead to combat and traversal challenges inside surreal environments connected to Logan’s past.

Collectible whisky bottles also unlock forgotten memories, tying exploration directly into the character’s history.

Material crates found throughout the world can be used to craft additional suits.

Insomniac says the costume selection draws from Wolverine’s history across comics, movies and animation, alongside original designs created specifically for the game.

Confirmed inspirations include Weapon X, Old Man Logan, Ultimate Wolverine and Patch, while simpler looks such as a tank top or leather jacket are also available.

Some hats and cowls can be toggled independently.

Finding additional suits can also provide health upgrades, while players can unlock different claw appearances including bone, notched, curved, reflective and angled claws.

Players can even extend Logan’s claws manually outside combat by pressing L2 and R2.

Several features available through Logan’s Nightmare Cabin were also confirmed.

New Game Plus will let players replay the campaign with exclusive Techniques and increased level caps, while Mission Replay allows individual sections of the story to be revisited without beginning another full playthrough.

Nightmare Challenges provide score-focused activities, and Photo Mode will be available through a day-one update.

Accessibility remains another major focus for Insomniac.

Marvel’s Wolverine includes more than 100 new, returning and improved accessibility features drawn from the studio’s previous games.

Options include High Contrast visuals, English Audio Description, adjustable Global Game Speed and Strong Haptic Signals.

Because Wolverine is considerably more violent than Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, the studio has also introduced dedicated settings for blood, dismemberment and adult language.

The story follows Logan as he works alongside Jean Grey and members of Team X against Bolivar Trask, whose plans threaten the remaining mutant population.

Players will travel across multiple locations while encountering enemies including Reavers and recognizable Marvel villains such as Omega Red and Deathstrike.

Marvel’s Wolverine launches exclusively for PlayStation 5 on September 15, 2026.

With the latest features trailer, Insomniac has now outlined how combat progression, exploration, cosmetics and replay features will fit together when Logan’s standalone adventure arrives next month.
