Infinity Ward has released a new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta update for August 30, adding Double XP, Double Weapon XP and a dedicated Transit 213 playlist. The changes went live at 10 AM PT as part of the third day of the Open Beta, with the developer continuing to adjust Multiplayer and Warzone based on player feedback. The update also makes several smaller mode, visual and interaction changes across the beta.

Double XP and Double Weapon XP are now active, giving players a faster route toward the beta’s Level 30 cap and the Beta Forged Blueprint reward. Infinity Ward has also added Transit 213 24/7, allowing players to spend more time on the map without relying on the broader Quick Play rotation. A 6v6 Gunfight playlist on Kill Block has joined the available selection as well, alongside modes including Search & Destroy, Combat Outpost, Hijack and the Zodiac Resurgence playlists.

Transit 213 has received a couple of mode-specific adjustments at the same time. The Team Deathmatch score limit on the map has been increased from 100 to 150, while Kill Confirmed now ends at 100 points instead of 75. Those changes should allow matches on the compact map to run longer, particularly now that players have a dedicated playlist for it.

Infinity Ward has also addressed an Operator presentation issue affecting lower-powered hardware. The studio says it improved model-streaming logic when entering the Operator Selection menu, reducing cases where character models briefly appeared at lower visual quality. This follows an earlier beta adjustment to temporal dithering, with Infinity Ward saying it is continuing to work on improving the appearance of Operator hair at longer distances ahead of launch.

The Multiplayer side of the update includes a fix for Combat Outpost that addresses poor streaming quality at the beginning of some matches. Infinity Ward has been making frequent changes throughout both beta weekends, ranging from weapon balance and movement to map visibility, spawns and technical problems. The studio has repeatedly stressed that feedback gathered during the beta is being used to make additional adjustments before Modern Warfare 4 launches.

Warzone’s Resurgence beta has also received a gameplay improvement focused on ground loot. Infinity Ward says interactions with items on the ground have been adjusted to make them easier to pick up during matches. That change follows a larger group of Warzone adjustments deployed on August 29, including faster movement in several areas and the ability to revive downed teammates while prone.

The Warzone portion of the beta takes place on Zodiac, a new Resurgence map centered around the DRC Advanced Systems facility. It is one of the major additions available during Modern Warfare 4’s second beta weekend, which opened to all players on August 28. Infinity Ward is using the test period to gather feedback not only on traditional Multiplayer but also on the revised Warzone experience that will accompany MW4.

Modern Warfare 4’s Open Beta includes Multiplayer, a playable Campaign mission, Ground War: Combat Outpost, Kill Block and Warzone Resurgence. Progression during the beta reaches Level 30, with cosmetic beta rewards carrying over to the full game while gameplay progression itself will reset. Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to launch on October 23, 2026, with Infinity Ward indicating that more beta adjustments could arrive as testing continues.
