Rockstar Games has released a major update to its PC launcher, introducing a redesigned in-game overlay with friend messaging, Discord integration, expanded achievement tracking and full controller support. The new interface is included in Rockstar Games Launcher version 1.0.110.3139, with the company confirming the changes in official patch notes dated November 3, 2026.
The update expands the launcher’s social functionality, allowing players to exchange text messages with friends directly through the in-game overlay. Users can also import friends from Discord by connecting their Discord accounts, bringing additional social features into Rockstar’s PC gaming platform.
The revamped overlay also introduces improvements to the way achievements are displayed and tracked. Players can now view achievement rarity information, while Red Dead Redemption 2 receives dedicated achievement progress tracking. This provides additional visibility into completion progress without requiring players to leave the game to check their accomplishments.

Another significant addition is full gamepad support for the overlay. Players using controllers can now navigate the interface without relying on a keyboard and mouse, making its social and achievement features more accessible during controller-based gaming sessions.
Rockstar has also introduced Streamer Mode, a privacy-focused option intended for players broadcasting or recording gameplay. When enabled, the mode disables certain overlay features, including the friends list, text chat and commerce screens, helping prevent potentially sensitive information from appearing during a stream.
Beyond the interface changes, Rockstar says it has improved the overlay’s rendering performance. These optimizations specifically concern the overlay itself, rather than the frame rates or graphical performance of games such as Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2.
The launcher update includes several additional stability improvements and bug fixes. Rockstar has addressed a crash that could occur when accessing the Microsoft Store during in-game purchases, along with another crash involving the License Agreement during launcher installation. Support for South Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee compliance notifications has also been added.
The November release represents a substantial functional upgrade to Rockstar’s PC gaming software, combining social communication, achievement information, controller navigation and privacy controls within a redesigned interface.
The update arrives as Rockstar prepares for the November 19 console launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, with preloading scheduled to begin on November 10. However, the launcher patch notes do not announce a PC version of GTA VI or establish any connection between the overlay redesign and a future PC release.
For existing Rockstar PC players, the confirmed improvements are focused on making the in-game overlay more useful for communication, tracking achievements and accessing launcher features without switching away from their games.
