Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.2, titled Their Secret Histories, will launch on September 9 with two new S-Rank Agents, a brand-new combat specialty, new story content and several limited-time events.
HoYoverse detailed the update during the Version 3.2 special program on August 28, confirming Claret and Roxy as the headline additions.
Claret is an S-Rank Electric Agent and the first character to use the new Armorer specialty.
Armorer is built around balancing offense and defense and introduces new Maim and multi-CRIT mechanics.
Claret can build Gash on enemies through her attacks. Once enough Gash has accumulated, specific skills can trigger Maim for additional damage and a Laceration damage boost.
Her damage also scales from DEF, while CRIT Rate above 100% can feed into the new multi-CRIT system.
The Armorer class also has access to a Counter Assist mechanic that can challenge certain enemy control attacks and push opponents back.
Claret will headline the first half of Version 3.2’s Signal Search.
Roxy arrives in the second half as an S-Rank Wind Stun Agent.
Her combat kit revolves around creating Eyes of the Storm using her EX Special Attack. Those tornadoes can then be gathered and detonated into a larger storm, while her Ultimate creates multiple tornadoes for a large area attack.
Nangong Yu and Promeia will return as rerun S-Rank Agents during the first and second halves respectively.
The Version 3.2 main story takes players deeper into Vyrium.
The Proxies travel to a special zone within the Shrouded Reef to deal with the mutated power affecting them, while a missing shipment of Porcelloy from Flint Workshop pulls Claret and Roxy into a separate investigation.
That trail eventually leads to a covert research facility connected to Helios Academy.
The story also brings Administrative Director Lindverne Sunbringer back into focus, with several previously hidden relationships and secrets set to surface as the investigation develops.
Version 3.2 will also include several new events.
Clink, Clank, Pinball Knight! has players working with Kahkiboo to build a pinball machine, while Diary of an Orbie Parent introduces a virtual pet-raising activity.
Chronicles of the Hobbling Crow adds a detective-themed event, and Shadow Chase Showdown provides a new HIA combat challenge.
HoYoverse is also giving players several free rewards during the update.
Logging in throughout the version will provide a cumulative total of 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons.
Players can also earn free Angels of Delusion faction outfits across Versions 3.2 and 3.3 through related events.
The 14-day Surprise Screening Plan check-in event will allow players to select one Angels of Delusion Outfit, while completing Challenge Mode in the pinball event can unlock another.
Enigma of the Labyrinth: Operation Bagel is receiving a seasonal update as well.
The new season adds Z-Rank valuables, character Gear, harder challenges, server-wide rankings and refreshed season missions.
Claret and Roxy will also receive their own Tactical Prisms and specialty Gear.
A new Break-Even Beacon item can be used to send some collected supplies away with a Bangboo, allowing those supplies to count even if the player later fails an extraction.
HoYoverse says a larger themed season update with new maps, systems and higher-difficulty challenges is already in development.
System changes are also coming in Version 3.2.
The Beginner Guide will expand to include Jane, Hugo and Soldier 0 – Anby, while Koleda is receiving an enhancement.
Perfect Assist indicators are also being standardized, with gold flashes consistently triggering Defensive Assist and red flashes triggering Evasive Assist.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.2 launches September 9 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, iOS and Android.
