Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is coming to Xbox Game Pass, with Microsoft’s own Xbox website now listing Konami’s upcoming action-exploration game as a future Game Pass release.
The listing follows an Xbox Game Pass Instagram post that appeared to reveal the subscription release earlier than expected, prompting speculation that Microsoft had accidentally announced the news ahead of a formal reveal.
The official Xbox Games page now provides much stronger confirmation. Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse appears among upcoming Xbox releases with a “Coming to Game Pass” label attached to the game.
Neither Konami nor Microsoft has separately announced which Game Pass tier will include the title, and the current Xbox Store product page continues to offer the game for preorder without prominently detailing its Game Pass availability.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is scheduled to launch on October 15, 2026.
The game is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC alongside its other platforms, and Microsoft already lists it as an Xbox Play Anywhere title, meaning a digital purchase through Xbox provides access across supported Xbox consoles and Windows PC with compatible saves and ownership.
The new Game Pass listing means subscribers should also have another way to access the game when it joins the service.
At the time of writing, Microsoft has not explicitly said whether Belmont’s Curse will enter Game Pass on October 15 itself or be added sometime after release.
The timing of the apparent Instagram leak, combined with the “Coming to Game Pass” wording on Xbox’s official site, makes a launch-day release possible, but that should not be treated as confirmed until Microsoft or Konami specifies the exact availability date.
Belmont’s Curse is the first new mainline-style Castlevania release in years and is being developed jointly by Konami, Evil Empire and Motion Twin.
The game is set in Paris in 1499, 23 years after the events associated with Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse.
Players take control of Rose Belmont, the daughter of Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades.
Rose carries Dracula’s curse in her right arm while continuing the Belmont family’s fight against monsters using the Vampire Killer whip alongside other weapons and equipment.
Konami describes the game as a 2D action-exploration title built around faster movement and more fluid combat than earlier entries.
The whip is used for both fighting and traversal, allowing Rose to swing through environments and quickly close distance on enemies.
Belmont’s Curse also introduces an Arcana system tied to its bosses.
Defeated bosses can be sealed into tarot cards, which then provide Rose with new abilities and special actions.
Confirmed encounters include familiar Castlevania characters such as Death, Medusa and Carmilla, alongside other figures including Joan of Arc.
Players can further customize Rose through weapons spread across multiple categories and Relics that provide different offensive and defensive effects.
Konami has also recently revealed the game’s English voice cast.
Abby Trott voices Rose Belmont, while JB Blanc plays Trevor Belmont. Graham McTavish returns as Dracula, and Liam O’Brien reprises his role as Isaac.
The standard Xbox version is currently listed at $29.99 in the United States, while a Midnight Edition is priced at $39.99 and includes additional digital content and in-game bonuses.
The Xbox listing is particularly notable because Belmont’s Curse had previously been presented primarily as a normal premium release rather than one of Microsoft’s major day-one subscription titles.
Game Pass availability could significantly expand its potential audience, particularly on Xbox and PC.
For now, the clearest confirmed development is that Microsoft itself is listing Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse as coming to Xbox Game Pass.
What remains unclear is exactly when it will enter the service and which subscription tier will include it.
