Athena Game has announced CONQ: Crown of No Quarter, a dark-fantasy tactical action game coming to PlayStation 5 and PC in 2027. The project made its world debut during Sony’s September 3 State of Play, with its first trailer showing large-scale medieval battles, naval combat and supernatural forces. A Steam listing has also gone live, confirming Athena Game as both developer and publisher and providing additional details about its combat, factions and multiplayer support.
CONQ is set in a purgatory known as the Eternal Shift, where death does not provide an escape and armies from different historical eras continue fighting in an endless cycle. Players awaken in the Iron Loop under the watch of an unknown entity and are forced to build their forces across land and sea. The setting mixes medieval warfare with dark-fantasy elements rather than attempting to reproduce one specific period of history.
The game combines direct third-person combat with real-time tactical commands. Players are not limited to issuing orders from a distance, instead fighting on the front line while directing regiments around the battlefield. Athena Game says players can engage rival commanders personally, execute them and trigger what the developer calls a “Coronation,” potentially breaking the morale and organization of the opposing army.

Large-scale battles appear to be central to the experience. The Steam description says players can lead hundreds of troops and move between land and naval warfare without separating those elements into completely different modes. The debut footage shows dense melee encounters, fortified positions and ship-based fighting, reinforcing the game’s attempt to combine personal action combat with broader strategic control.
CONQ also introduces cross-era factions, allowing warriors from different historical backgrounds to face each other within the corrupted purgatory. Athena Game says historical alliances do not apply in the Eternal Shift, giving the setting freedom to mix troops and military styles that would never normally have fought together. Players will choose a faction, although the developer has not yet revealed the complete roster or explained how faction selection affects progression.
The supernatural side of the game is represented through systems called Anomalies. Players can use dark mutations and curses to alter the battlefield, including summoning undead forces and disrupting enemy morale. These abilities appear designed to sit alongside conventional troop commands rather than replace them, giving commanders another tactical tool when direct attacks or conventional formations are not enough.
Multiplayer will be part of the PC release as well. The Steam page lists single-player, online co-op and cross-platform multiplayer support, indicating that CONQ is being designed for both solo and cooperative play. Athena Game has not yet explained the maximum co-op player count, whether the entire campaign can be completed cooperatively or how cross-platform multiplayer will work between PC and PS5.
The game also carries RPG and strategy elements alongside its action systems. Its Steam categories include Action, Adventure, RPG and Strategy, while the developer describes the core experience as tactical action rather than a traditional real-time strategy game. That distinction matters because the player remains an active combatant even while commanding larger forces, creating a hybrid structure rather than switching completely between separate action and strategy layers.
CONQ’s PC requirements provide an early indication of the hardware Athena Game is targeting. The current minimum specification lists Windows 10, an Intel Core i5-12400, 16GB of RAM, a GeForce RTX 3060, DirectX 12 and 50GB of available SSD storage. Recommended specifications have not yet been fully detailed, and those requirements may still change before launch.
The reveal adds another 2027 action title to PlayStation’s upcoming slate, alongside projects ranging from Daba : Land of Water Scar to Konami’s Rev . NOiR. CONQ stands apart by combining direct melee combat, army management, naval encounters and co-op within one dark-fantasy war setting.
CONQ: Crown of No Quarter is scheduled to launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5 and PC. Athena Game has not announced a more specific release window or pricing yet, but wishlisting is already available on Steam as development continues.
